Beatrice is in 31 trees on Ancestry. I suggest you take out a sub and look into the trees and possibly try and contact some of the tree owners..

You can also do a lot of your own research on the various census etc yourself

How can you say that the Smith man was the father of Alfred DRYDEN, whose birth was clearly illegitimate, with NO father named?

The woman’s marriage to Smith was 2 years after the birth

I think I mentioned at the outset that is extremely unlikely that anyone connected would see your post.


Have you checked out other members trees or looks at www.freebmd.org.uk to try and find a marriage before 1879. Have you found Alfred Ashley Smith or Beatrice in the census - which could lead you to the parents.

Sorry I didn't put that the marriage was for the Edgar Clifton Ashley Smith's Parents.
Edgar is father and mum Lily Dryden of Peter John Wilkins , Aka Alfred James Dryden
I am trying now to go backwards, sideways to get more family members for Peter .
Alfred Ashley Smith is Edgar's father.
This line is new to me.
I am now looking for information on Beatrice Beard's family and Peters great grandfather who was also an Alfred Smith not sure when where born or who he married but maybe he was born around 1835 +/- married around time of Alfred Ashley Smith birth in1879 .

Alfred and Beatrice's son Edgar Clifton Ashley Smith married Lily Richardson Dryden in Gloucester in 1933.

Hi This is the information I have obtained from marriage certificate for Alfred Ashley Smith

Alfred Ashley Smith was aged 25yrs Bachelor Profession a Carpenter in 1905 when he married
Beatrice Norah Beard her age was 20yrs Spinster
They married on 8th February in parish of Longhope Gloucester.
Alfred at time was living 25 looks like (Clagram ?) Road Gloucester
Alfred's father is also an Alfred Smith whose profession was a Gardener.
There is no profession down for Beatrice Norah Beard
It has her livings at "Castles" Longhope
Beatrice father is down as James Beard his profession a Labourer.
Both Alfred and Beatrice signed the register and was signed in presence of cannot decipher first name could be signed ( Gwen) Beard but not sure and Alice Calicott.

Hi All progress made today with information obtained on here I have actually had contact with wife of Adam Elliston-Owens grandson of Lily (maiden name Dryden) (1st Marriage Smith) Elliston. Son of Heather Elliston and Karl Owens. It was amazing to actually have contact and look forward to meeting up. My adopted Cousin Peter Wilkins ( born Alfred James Dryden) now has an actual bloodline family. I have forwarded the information to him. hoping he will now be able to speak with his family and find out more about his birth mother Lily Richardson Dryden. Thank you so much for all your help

Someone named Nina E Owens, born 1967, is on the 2022 Electoral Roll for Nuneaton.

Of course I don't know if she's the woman you're looking for or not.
There are also three marriage records (1983, 1994, 2002) in Nuneaton for women named Nina E Owens, so one of them (or none - or possibly all) may be her.

If you look at the Electoral Rolls, under "Search" at top right of this page, and search for Adam, you'll see an entry for him with a hyphenated surname. (But search for him using the surname Owens.)

He was living in Nuneaton at least until 2016. If you click on the document symbol at the right of the search result, you'll see the full address.

That address has not been sold since then, so he and his family may still be there, if they have opted out of the public ER.
Try writing to him.

They were certainly still in Nuneaton last year. If you Google his wife's name you'll see there's a 2021 photo of her on the Facebook page of a Nuneaton driving school.

Well guess what guys certificate came and yes it confirms that it is the same person albeit marriage certificate she lied.
