Hello
John Ewen Mcpherson was born/bapt 10.7.1836 in Musselburgh Edinburgh.
There is some possibility that his father was Lachlan McPherson,although I cannot find anything on the census to confirm this.
John Ewen married Ann Robson 10.3.1863 in Newcastle on Tyne.
Any details would be really appreciated thank you.

The baptism info doesn’t match the marriage……..nor is there a second forename. The two records would appear to be for different people - what makes you think they are for the same person?

Not much help, but the 1911 census does give his birthplace as Edinburgh. Can't c& p on my tablet.

'...his body was brought to Newcastle in a coffin of oak with brass monntings. The inscripition on the breast-plate was:—"John Ewan McPherson Died 13th of September, 1922. aged 88 years." The coffin after a service in the church was placed in the family vault which was lined with evergreens.'
