As well as ruling out the 1925 Simpson/Simpson child registered in Driffield, we can also rule out the one born in 1926.

He's with (presumably) his mother in 1939.
As happens so often in the 1939 Register, his stated age is out by one year.

The lady I am helping first name is Jill born 1944. Her brother Bryan born in 1937 died aged 69. I am messaging her now for more info.

Her brother Bryan married Beth Whitehead in Yorkshire.

Her mother Sophia changed her second name from Ann to Valarie at some point.

Bryan Charles Wright died 2005 in Oldham, Lancashire

I did take note of your message on 5th May and have just heard back from Jill and she confirmed that her brother was Bryan Charles born 1937, not Bryan Cecil Wright.
So no further forward with finding who the other closed record is on 1939 register, Bryan Charles Wright is the second closed record, almost sure of that at least. The only other info is that Sophia mentioned training in nursing at Great Yarmouth and Hull prior to her marriage in 1935. Thanks for your help

There were no Simpson/Simpson births registered in either Yarmouth or Hull in 1928-35.

There were four in Norfolk as a whole - but all girls.

You stated in your opening post that the brother died in 1997, which is why I posted the various records I found.

The mother was employed at Saffron Walden hospital at the time of her marriage in January 1935

Why doesn’t Jill get copy birth certs? At £11.00 each, they are considerably cheaper than DNA, which is of no use in this situation
