Find Ancestors

I wonder if someone could find the emigration and Marriage records for James Moore d.o.b. c 1843 who married Elizabeth Deens in Philadelphia in 1872 according to Familysearch.

I'm keen to find out when James emigrated and if it might show on his marriage records who his parents are.

The James Moore in my family tree is my great grandfathers brother who was a witness to my gr.grandfather in 1869 in Glasgow.

So before I waste more credits on ScotlandPeople looking for a James Moore I thought I'd check this one .

I don't think is the James I am looking for going by the dates of arrival in the U.S.
My James was in Glasgow in 1869 according to my gr.grandfathers marriage cert,

when and where was james born

He was born c 1843 in Ireland I'm presuming Londonderry as that is where my gr.grandfather , his brother was born.

All I have on James is his name on my.gr.grandfather's marriage cert in Tradeston, Glasgow in 1869 .

Also I'm just presuming he is the brother.
Parents should be John Moore and Mary nee Mullen

Hi Jean, perhaps if you told us more about your ggrandfather, his name, who he married etc, we might have better luck finding the correct James. If you could post some census records with them on it might help.

I'll have a look at the threads on here as I have quite a few about the Moore /Stewart family,

The marriage record has ONLY the names of the couple - and those of the witnesses.

NO other info

Why have you picked on this record? Any reason to think it is relevant?

Any proof that the man emigrated?

I saw on Ancestry a lot of trees with James Moore same d.o.b , some of the trees with other ancestors the same as mine but now I really don't think this is my James .

Henry Moore married Margaret Stewart in 1869 in Tadeston, Glasgow,
His parents were John Moore ( Watchmaker ) Dec'd and Mary nee Mullen.

Henry's occupation was Steamboat stoker his address was " The Steamship Kinsale ".
Can't find him in 1871.
1881 he is with his family at 68, Clyde Street,
1891 at 91, Yorkhill Street, Anderston, Glasgow.
Henry died 1891 at 91, Yorkhill Street , Glasgow.

have you found johns marraige or henrys baptism

I haven't found John's marraige or Henry's baptism.

On the 1880 census for James it shows 2103, Carpenter Street this is the same address as showing on Jane's death information.
