Don't know if that he means he died at Shanghai, or if it's means some naval thing ended.

EDIT:

On the next page it says:
N4168/30 approves discharge 22/12/30 at Shanghai.
Unemployment Insurance form sent to Ministry of Labour Register No 75865.


So it looks as if he was just discharged in 1930 - not died.

His record indicates he was still on ships in 1928 then there is a stamp that says Record transferred from ....1929... the rest is illegible.

The date 1929 noted in the earlier post by alviegal may refer to where the relevant service documents might be found as their name was changed 1928
