Find Ancestors

Ann was born in 1874 in the village of High Crompton Lancs.
Her mother was Mary Pimley nee Whalley who did not marry Ann's father Charles Tapner.
They had two sons William Charles, died unmarried in 1910, & John Thomas (my grandfather).
I have all the Births, Census and deaths etc for all the above but Ann only appears in the 1881 census.
I would love to know what happened too her.
The boys used Pimley as surname after mother/father split before 1884 when mother died and boys were put in Prestwich Workhouse.

Thank you, took me a while to get through it all. Most I have.
I think Mary left George after death in 1869 of their son George Thomas. DIDN'T know about Joseph Whalley Pimbley!!! Birth of Ann in 1874 is in tiny village of High Crompton were I come from via John Thomas Tapner/Pimley.

Ann is there called Tapner so Mary must 'know' Charles by then. There is no record of her as Tapner/Whalley/Pimbley after 1881 and no obvious death either. This is an almost 20 year challenge with no answer.
It's an interesting lot but no further forward on Ann.

Hope it filled a few minutes for you all, again lots of thanks but the wall still standing.

Ann is listed as Tapner on the census.............info given by whoever the enumerator spoke to.
Doesn't mean that Tapner was her legal surname at birth
Of course, her birth may simply not have been registered as the penalties for not registering didn't come into play until 1875
