hello all, im hoping someone could help me out. i have a christina gordon born 1822 sutherland kildonan scotland died 1884 wick caithness scotland. her husband was john tait and they had 7 kids that i know of all of them born in wiilton roxburgh scotland. her parents were george gordon and elizabeth grant? but i cant seem to find anything else on her parents other than their names on her death certificate. i really need to find them, where thay came from and any siblings she may have had....any help would be so thankfully received. yours hopefully joanne in oz

i have the 61 & 71 census' for christina and her husband & children, that is the correct one that you found for her

i had come across that one before but the names are christian, william & isabella, i would think that childs a boy and death cert clearly says gordon & elizabeth.....sorry i dont think it is.

that 41 census does match in every other way other than parents names.... this is a weird one, notice there are a brother and sister names george and elizabeth....

thanks maureen, dont suppose it said who the others living with them on the 51 census were? do you think i should go with william and isabel as being her parents? see if that takes me anywhere?

On 1851 census they are all listed as either son or daughter which suggests that John had been married before. Problem with Christina being born about 1822 is that she could be living away from home at that age in 1841 Maureen
