Thanks Rebekah. There is mention of Aldgate but I can't remember whether it's this particular family or not. Unfortunately I'm unable to view tree at work most of the time, only at home! Can you tell me where those other Parishes are exactly?

Dan - There are no William or Wm Figgins on there I'm afraid. There are other Figgins though, in case you need them in the future.

Hi Rebekah, Can you please look for the marriage of William FIGGINS, to Rebecca. The marriage is likely to have taken place in or around Chelsea, between 1797-1822. Thank you, Dan.

I've checked on Pallot's between 1810-1830, and these are the results: Name: John Robertson Spouse: Mary Collison Marriage Date: 1825 Parish: St Boltolph Without Aldgate Name: John Robertson Spouse: Mary Herbert Marriage Date: 1827 Parish: St Anne Name: John Robertson Spouse: Mary Hill Marriage Date: 28 Jan 1827 Parish: Wigston Magna Name: John Robertson Spouse: Mary Singlar Marriage Date: 1805 Parish: Hanwell Middlesex There ARE more, but they were married either in the 1830s, or very early, eg 1802, 1804. If you would like these please let me know.

Rebekah Well their youngest daughter, Lydia, was born around 1828, so I'm guessing they were both born in the first decade of the 1800s (but I think probably 1801). I'm researching Benjamin Robertson (born c. 1833) who was born in Lambeth, Surrey. In the 1841 census for Lambeth, St Mary, living in Upper Marsh, there's a Benjm listed with John and Mary both aged 40. On the tick box for 'whether born in the same county', there's a tick by Mary & John and I think I've seen later records saying they were born in Middlesex. In 1851 it looks like John has been widowed.

Linda G - I have a William Angliss marrying Ann Arby 1831 Mansfield, Notts; and a Wm Angliss marrying Jane Gardner 1835 at St George in the Borough (presume London) but thats all. However, with the surname Anglis, there is a William marrying a Mary Loveridge 1824 St Marylebone; and a Willim marrying Margaretta Bunce 1815 in London.

Maria - do you have any clue as to their age, as we can estimate a marriage date from that. There are so many John Robertsons marrying Mary's, and we don't have an exact location. Were they on the 1851 census?

Hi Rebekah Am trying to find anything before 1841 on John Robertson and his wife Mary ???? The earliest info I have on them is the 1841 census where they were living in Upper Marsh, Westminster, Middlesex and on the census it says they were both born in Middlesex.

Moira - Won't be on Pallot's because of the year. Have checked BMD, there is an Edward Phillips in Shoreditch marrying in 1883, but not to a lady with the foreign surname. I've checked all the men with 'Phillips' surname in London 1880-1882, but cannot find them marrying anyone of a remotely similar name. I'll keep looking tonight and if anything comes up I'll let you know. How did you know about the lady's surname?

Pamela Ward - I'm sorry, I searched 10 yrs either side of 1836, and under the forenames of Chas and Charles; also under the surnames of Davis and Davies....but none of them have married a Gough. Im happy to try a wider date search if you like.

Gary - Name: Eleanor Burling Spouse: Thos Turner Marriage Date: 1821 Parish: T S Clemy Danes This is all sorry Gary. Did 20 yrs either side of 1824, and searched under Thos and Thomas.

However, I found a Christiana Wilkes marrying George Walker in 1832, Shadwell St Paul. Just thought you might be interested in case something comes up later on in your tree.

Hi Rebekah Could you please have a look for Charles Davis b abt 1811 St George in The East and Mary Ann Gough b abt 1818 Westminster There first son was born 1845 and they appear 1841 Census as married so any time before then. They are not on Marriage reg. With Many Thanks Pamela
