Hi Mary. I believe you may not have found info for James Mumford in the States (posted on the previous thread), which is good news, as that means I could be on the right track with my Canadian Mumford. Thank you for your help. We had a lovely couple of days (beautiful weather) but it is now cooling down, so Fall must be finally approaching. Thank you again.

Hi Mary. Sorry, didn't know if I had missed a message. I'm thinking that the Isabella (B)Rennie that married Walter Maxwell was the daughter of Isobel Adam(s) and Robert Rennie. Margaret PS I'd love to be having 30 degree days right now!! How hot does it get in summer?

Hi Mary, Thanks for offering to do lookups - very much appreciated. I am looking for a USA census lookup, 1900-1910, re: LEWIS DENHAM (possibly Louis) b 12 May 1869, in St Nicholas, Aberdeen. He apparently emigrated to the USA around 1900 (can't find him on ellisisland.org ship lists, though). I don't know if he was married by then or not. He definitely was living in SEATTLE at first, as my dad remembers seeing letters he sent home. His occupation, eventually, was a judge in the USA, although his parents were weavers, so not sure of his occupation at first in the US. Any info you can find would be great. Thanks again. Janet

Hi Mary, MESSAGE UPDATED I have taken advantage of the 3 day free trial on Ancestry and I have found my chap on 1910 - 1930 census'.It seems that he was known as 'Edward' in the States. Please cancel my request - you have enough to do for other folk! I haven't found any other info on him but that can wait until another time. Many thanks, Jill Thank you so much for your kind offer. I am looking for any information on an Edwin WALTER. He was born c 1880 in Islington. He had to flee the UK to avoid a prison sentence and I have found a possible entry for him on the Ellis Island site in 1902. Family stories say that he married in the States possibly to a Maria. They had a son who we think may have been called Dexter. An elderly aunt thought that he worked for the Ford company in Chicago but now thinks that it might have been Michigan. He was known in the UK as 'Ted'. If you are able to find him on any census records - or indeed any records - I should be very grateful. Best wishes, Jill

Hi Mary, Many thanks for the images. Really grateful for your help and time searching for me as I gave you so little information and you came up trumps for me. Is it possible to have the second image of the 1881 census you gave me as their names ( john mort / ellen mort.) are on the bottom of 1 page and obviously on the top of the next if you wouldn't mind. Also William Eley that is about the date of his birth and after further questions being asked yes his mother was margaret if I could be really cheeky and ask you for those as well I would be really grateful. Thank you ever so much Brenda.

Hi Mary. Unfortunately I don't have deaths for Robert or Isobel Rennie - I was hoping that they were still alive on the 1841 and that would at least give their approximate ages to look for births. Since they most likely died before 1855, I may have a time trying to find their deaths, as SP records don't start until after then. Thanks for the info on the Maxwells; may have to do some further digging to narrow down which ones may be mine. Margaret

Hi Are you still able to do lookups ? I am looking for the birth/baptism of Thomas Page around 1836-39 in New York. His parents were Reuben (b1809) and Mary (b1816) ( I have not found their marriage yet), they had returned to Birmingham by the 1841 census. His ages vary in the different census, so I am not sure of the exact year. Would you be able to find Reuben and Mary arriving in the US, I don't think departures are anywhere are they ?? Thanks for any help or ideas. Diane
