Zoe Report 28 Mar 2006 23:42

Judith You will need to access the parish registers for the places you are interested in.. Ask on main Records board for info on how to do that I know many people are experts at working out parish records sorry I couldn't be more helpful.. Zoe

Zoe Report 28 Mar 2006 23:39

Rose Well I don't know what to suggest I looked through all the houses on Upper Fenton Street in 1891 and no joy arrrgghhh took me ages to find the street, all I can suggest is that you search the Christchurch parish of ST GEO IN THE EAST you may find them hidden somewhere LOL..a very long task if you have already done this I don't know what to suggest.. Without even knowing who she married is a bit hard.. Have you found Ann Eliza or George in the 1901 census on Georges birth cert did he have a middle name?? Zoe

Zoe Report 28 Mar 2006 22:47

Raymond/Ann Do you think this might be her in 1861? Name: Elizabeth Osborne Age: 14 Estimated birth year: abt 1847 Relation: Servant Gender: Female Where born: Tranmere, Cheshire, England Civil parish: Birkenhead Ecclesiastical parish: St John Town: Birkenhead County/Island: Cheshire Country: England Source information: RG9/2643 Registration district: Birkenhead Sub-registration district: Birkenhead ED, institution, or vessel: 21 Folio: 137 Page: 17 Household schedule number: 93 GSU Number: 543004 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Can't see the above in 1851!..! Had a look for the marriage and the birth Nearest I can find is Name: Elizabeth Osborn Year of Registration: 1845 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Wirral (1837-1974) County: Cheshire Volume: 19 Page: 306 Tranmere and Birkenhead REGISTRATION DISTRICTS Wirral (1837-61); Birkenhead (1861-98) Hope this is of some help It's such a shame there is no sign of the marriage as that would help establish the right birth cert with checking point..As I said the above birth cert is the nearest I can find. Maybe they got married later than you think I have seen some ancestors say they are married then get married 20 or so years after 1st child ~ always a thought. Zoe

Hi Zoe Can you help with an ancient mystery? I'm trying to find any link between the Horrox family in Keighley - early 18th century and the Horrox family in Kildwick from 1580ish to 1800. No census info - but i'm pretty much a novice - and little experience with parish register. Grateful for any suggestions. Thanks judith

Zoe Report 28 Mar 2006 22:18

Elaine Sooo glad you found it!! No idea where he is in the censuses will try to think of a way to find him if he's there..Could he have possibly been out of the country??? Zoe

David Report 28 Mar 2006 10:35

Hi Zoe... Re: MORTIMER/CRAWLEY. Joseph MORTIMER married Ann BURWOOD 12 Feb 1872 in Stepney. First child Eliza Ann born 15 Nov 1872 (mother formerly BURWOOD) on birth cert. 1881 Ann (29) b. I new I needed fresh eyes. ha. lol Rose..

Raymond Report 28 Mar 2006 09:42

Hi Zoe Thanks for clearing that 1871 census up I can not find Elizabeth Osborne Birth 1845 Birkenhead or her marriage to John Henderson b 1845 Glasgow any help there ? Thank you Ann

Claire Report 28 Mar 2006 00:27

Hi Zoe, Yes, you're right, I realized later what I'd done. And Yes, I have got the Kennedy's in 1841 Barton Upon Irwell & Salford census. Thomas 45 Elizabeth 30 Sarah 8 Mary 7 Ellen 6 Living North Road Pendleton, says he was a shop keeper born out of the country. Guess their still could be a link with the John Singleton though! I'll let you think about it, without confusing you anymore! Thanks again, Claire xx

Zoe Report 28 Mar 2006 00:23

Ruth Are you wanting to trace your tree if so how old was your mother at time of marriage then you could find her birth cert then you would get both her parents names and where she was born and her birth date.. If you want address lookups at that period in time I don't know if any are around but you could try the local library to the area they lived in.. If you give me her age I will try to find her birth cert for you Zoe

Zoe Report 28 Mar 2006 00:16

Raymond Ok 1871 Head is a Sawyer Elizabeth Henderson abt 1846 Birkenhead, Cheshire, England Wife Ruabon Denbighshire John Henderson abt 1845 Scotland Head Ruabon Denbighshire Robert J Henderson abt 1868 Cefn Mawr, Denbighshire, Wales Son Ruabon Denbighshire Source information: RG10/5652 Registration district: Wrexham Sub-registration district: Ruabon ED, institution, or vessel: 11 Folio: 194 Page: 30 Household schedule number: 185 GSU Number: 892484 the answer as to why Elizabeth Ann is not there maybe because the next 2 pages are missing from this census and they are at the bottom of this page so Elizabeth if there should be on next page but it is missing!! I think that she was there it's just the page is missing....she is with them in 1881 Hope that helps or was there something else you needed Zoe
