Thanks for looking Lorraine I know my Whaley family originate from the Metfield, Mettingham, South Elmham area. I bought the 1841 Suffolk census CD7 covering Mettingham and the South Elmhams but because I didn't get the whole Suffolk set I thought maybe I'd missed a few. Thank you for taking the time to check Metfield for me. Emma

Thanks for answering Lorraine but can you just quickly explain to me...should I be looking for someone offering a '41 census look-up in the London area or Surrey area if I want to find out about a family who were living in Wandsworth. I find it so confusing. Once again, many thanks, Linda

Helloe Lorraine, I am trying to locate my Great Grandfather's parents. My Great Grandfather is called William Parkin born in 1829, his birthplace on the 1871 census was Combe Martin North Devon. This would stack up all the way, as all my relatives on the Parkin side come from Combe Martin North Devon In 1841 William Parkin would have been 12 years old. The only name I have for his parents is Charles and Julia? circa 1800's if that is any help to you? The occupation of Charles, the head of the house, would possibly have been silver/tin miners. Thank you. Ellen
