Hello Lesley Thank you so much for the census information on James in the 1861 census. my first thought is the occupation is wrong as mine was a watchmaker and this one is a tailor but the only other James in 1861 was an agricultural labourer. so of the 2 it could be he changed his occupation from tailor. the areas he lived in barnsley,newcastle and sunderland i doubt he was an agricultural labourer. you have given me another avenue to work on. thanks again Angela

ANGELA It seems a bit of an odd career change dont you think? Tailor to Watchmaker? But I suppose we have to keep our options open lol He obviously liked to make people look good lol With nice Clothes and then nice jewellery lol If you need anything else just SHOUT Lesley :~)

Hello Lesley I dont think its him but I am keeping my options open. more like he has vanished off the face of the earth with some of my other relatives, only to pop up a few years later. with the information you have given about the James b1842 born in Hinckley. I have emailed someone on the genes site who has him on their tree.will let you know how I get on thanks Angela

Hello Lesley thanks for your good wishes but have just received a message and the James b1842 is definitely not my James Holt as he has kindly provided me with a list of his children. well looks like mine has disappeared.thought it was too good to be true after all this time of searching for him. back to the drawing board on this one. best wishes Angela
