it great having a zabiah as have found quiet alot as unusual name but when it gets mistranscribed it can be anything! she was Labiah in one census and her aunt Zabiah ended up calling her self Dabiah/Dibiah or so im told, must have been easier? ali

The numbers from the census is the ages. The numbers in the birth lookup is the GRO ref, from which you order the certs.

Hello, I am trying to trace my mothers family. My mums mum died when she was 4 years old (47 years ago/1958). He name was Florence Durbin and she used to live in Walsall. we do have a previous address which was 127 well lane, blakenall,nr walsall. My mum would love to trace her sisters or any relatives atal. i am not sure when she was born,im guessing around 1920's. I would be so grateful if you can find anything out. Thanks Colette McMullen

Colette, that is all I know. It is the reference for her birth. There weren't that many around, so I assume it must be her. Do you have any information about her at all? Is your Grandfather, or mother able to give any more help about this? It may be best to find her marriage, which would be somewhere around when your mum was born, I assume. I don't have access to records after 1920 though, so I can't help with that. If you can get to the local records office, you'll be able to hunt them out, unless your mum has the cert already.

Colette Report 7 Feb 2005 13:35
