I hope this will help,The family are not good on ages or places of birth, but I hope you can make some sense of it.
No idea why John Sanderson becomes Harrison.
Very odd,I am not convinced that Turnbull and Elizabeth were married.

Very glad it is your family not mine!!!!

Hi Mary,

I am trying to find more info about my paternal grandmother's parents- Elizabeth Turnbull and her husband.

My grandmother was Florence Stubbs nee Turnbull born c 1878 Leasingthorne, Durham.

1881census Florence age 3. Living 867 Leasingthorne with:
Elizabeth Sanderson age 57( b Merrington, Durham) who is listed as head of household and grandmother to Florence.
also present:
John Harrison age 36 single(son of Elizabeth Sanderson)
Elizabeth Turnbull 29 born c 1852/3 Leasingthorne,Durham.
-married and daughter-in-law of Eliz Sanderson.
William Turnbull 27, born Houghton, Durham.
-married and son- in- law of Elizabeth Sanderson

I assumed from this that William and Elizabeth Turnbull are not married to each other.

In the 1901 census neither Elizabeth Sanderson nor William Turnbull are present.
John Harrison is now head of household and Elizabeth Turnbull is listed as his sister and Florence as his niece -now age 23
There is also a George Turnbull who is listed as John's nephew (and presumably Elizabeth's son)
Address is 47 Windlesham Colliery, Chilton. Durham

I am a little confused as ElizabethTurnbull is supposedly Elizabeth Sanderson's daughter-in- law in first census but info in 1901 census implies that she is her daughter (and John Harrison's sister)

I cannot find details that match Elizabeths Sanderson and Turnbull in other census and am unable to find birth or death records for these two. (also searched Elizabeth Harrison)

I have no idea who Elizabeth married but hope to discover this upon receipt of Florence Turnbull's birth certificate- assuming I've ordered the correct one.

Other information:

FlorenceTurnbull married Matthew Stubbs( Sedgefield Sept 1906 Jul-Sep) and I think she died in 1964 (Durham April- June)

Phew!

Any suggestions / help greatfully received.

Thanks
Jane

Hi Ray
Sorry i cannot help you with this request as I do not have access to Scottish bmd records.
As to the death ref for Aunt Margaret 2007 death records have not yet been released.

You will need scotlands people site for the scottish records,it is a pay to view site and very good.

Mary, not sure if you have the Scottish Census Records, but I am trying to look up Jane Grieve born 1832-35, parents Peter & Jane Grieve. born 30 Nov 1805 and 1803 respectively. They resided in the High Paisley, Renfrewshire area. I'm wanting to see 1841, 51, 61 in particular - I think Jane was working prior to 1855 when she was married. Her father was deceased prior to 1855, but her mother died in 1878. The name could be spelt Grive, Grieve, Greive.
Many thanks.

Have looked for Doyle/Parkinson marriage 1944-1947 and have not been able to find one anywhere.
