Okay, explain it to me.

For some months there have been 3 people in my "communicating" file.

Does this mean they actually tried to contact me??

Under "Communication Stage" it says "Get to know each other" exactly as it does for the people in the "New" file (you know, the 27 people dating from April 2008 ... although I see one dated this month ... in Florida ...).

No guff, Rose -- a free communivation *week* following right on a free communication *weekend*? I've never heard of weeks over on this side. Maybe eharm just isn't catching on so well on your side.

Soooo ... what are ya gonna do??? Have you cleared your dance card for the next month?

You haven't doubled my score of matches yet, I see. I should check whether I have any new ones ...

La la la.

I think we should all do the "What kind of girl are you?" quizzie at OKCupid. Or the "What kind of guy are you?" one, I suppose, if that fits. Hey, I've never done that one. I think I'll go do it.

One link does both:

Hahaha. I am the LOVERBOY. The exact counterpart of what I was in my female incarnation a couple of years ago, the PEACH.

I am made for me.

Okay, this thread is too long and clunky. OKCupid wants its own thread. Here it comes.

Time for an update, I thought!

It's been two weeks, and still I have not been, um, re-banned from that place. In fact, I have been "friended" by three of the most well-loved women members ... the first one a moderator. !! No, no guyz, but remember: you aren't looking for guy friends. Guys don't date friends.

So who's needing dating advice now, then?

Please try to get over yourself before whining.

Oh, and girls and ladies: do read this first for general advice:

http://advice.eharmony.com/article/are-you-chasing-him-and-dont-even-know-it.html

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we find ourselves falling for a man, it's normal to start feeling that if we don't show enough interest in him he might get the wrong message and drift away. We want to make sure he knows we like him. So we might do things like:

1. Calling him because you heard or read about something interesting, or because you knew there was a great band playing somewhere, or someone told you about some great event that you want to invite him to.

2. Calling to ask why he hasn't called you.

3. E-mailing him, texting him, Facebooking him, sending him a cute card, dropping by his house, or in any way attempting to initiate some kind of contact.

4. Asking him how he feels - especially asking him how he feels about you or the relationship.

5. Inviting him to come and join you, or in any way acting like the social director of the relationship.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only desperate, shameless hussies would behave thus. If you are so desperate and shameless that you have ever called, emailed or texted a man, or invited him to do something somewhere, don't be complaining to me about your singularly single status. Just get over yourself!

Well Dizzi, obviously it's that fine profile of yours showing your excellent set of chins!

I should have mentioned that there are some guys who like fat chicks. They pursue them, even from 200 miles. That's why they're called "chubby chasers".

They're not after you for your cooking or your witty conversation.

Get over yourself!

I shall have a look, Rose.

..... Okay, I did. Really, that's all just weird. We had a 3-legged St Bernard once. Cancer, lost a front leg. She got around okay. Then more cancer, though.

No pic of the good doc there though. Had to try google images, and even there found only one to speak of. He seems to be no Gul Dukat ...

Really though, all that for pets? Think of the people, seriously.

Irene, your husband is no fun. You're needing a cedar 2x4, I think.

I lost Foggy somewhere back there, missed something he said. Anybody else not satisfied with their advice here,

Get over yourself!

1 stone = 14 pounds.

As for the men who want slim girls (lets face it in their dreams they want some nubile 21yr old) being gods gift. Only in their own view and that's cos they haven't looked in a mirror in years/own a guide dog/white stick.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 14 Jul 2010 23:24

Somebody tell me what a stone is. And then remind me hourly for a couple of days so I might remember this time.

12 pounds?

Yeah, Daff, they're all the gods' gift, you know ...

Rose, what in the name of ... is a bionic vet??

When we had one of the FIV-y cats euthanized, the first one to go, Carl I guess, a few years ago, the vet started in with what sounded like the beginning of some kind of funeral sermon. I cut him right off. The cat's dead. Not going to cat heaven, nope. Not that No.1 and I weren't blubbing. Of course we were.

That actually seems to be No.1's biggest reason for not getting more cats (there is a fine crop of ferals around this summer, beautiful long-haired orange ones and black ones). Apart from the odeur. That he can't go through having another one die on us.

I think he qualifies for that sensitivity thingy maybe.

Rambling

Rambling Report 14 Jul 2010 23:18

Oh forget all these men on dating sites... take a look at the lovely man on the telly... the 'bionic' vet...using his skills to help injured animals to walk again... now that is the kind of kind man I like , with a sense of 'where there's life there's hope' but also that streak of realism that knows when to say, we've done all we can...now let go... sensitivy, compassion and he's Irish...lol

Oh, and I did send a message to somebody on OKC once some time ago because I was convinced he was Errol the Sheep.

Just so you know -- the basic quizzies are staff-written (and they are apparently statisticians, and quite entertaining). There are four main ones: what kind of "girl"/guy you are, what your politics are, what age you will die at, and something else.

I, of course, am The Peach. Beat that. (I will not say "eat your heart out" for fear of further vulgarity from you know who.)
