How do I find twins?

I am looking for the birth records of twins called Albert and Alfred Jackson. I think they were born around 1920 but not certain. Would they both be on the same registration record sheet? Should I be looking for both names on the same sheet with the same mother's maiden name or doesn't it work like that?

I have seen a brother and sister in the birth reg book with the same number
registered at the same time.
Where were your twins born.

Do you know of any other siblings?

Carole, where are you looking? Freebmd is the best place:

This is all anyone else will do. You are right, the MMN will be the same, as will the volume and page refs.

Couldn't the page numbers be different by one, or would they start a new page rather than put the first one in the last slot on a page?

I guess so - but I would assume the same to begin with, then if you can't find them widen the search!
You could do with an idea of location though, or as jansmith says, name of a sibling to find MMN.

On the original local register they would have been next to each other, and possibly, as Ken says, on different pages. But, on the composite version, which is what we see, they are not next to each other as the registers are alphabetical.
