James is living with his Aunty Hannah and Uncle Ralph Taylor from the age of 6 in the 1901 census. He was born in 1886 in Spotland Further Side.Rochdale, Lancashire. How hard I try I can not find his parents names.
Hannah is nee Southwell which is in James's name but says nephew in the census.

In 1901 he is living with his mother in the household of her sister Susan Brierley although it doesn't show it on the transcription. Another sister last name Matthews is living with them (I can't make out initials of first name). All 3 sisters are widows. Also sister E. A. Southwell, single.

Lesley, the feeble minded comment was on the last column of the 1911 census where disabilities are listed. Not sure what they meant by it back then, possibly dementia of some sort?
