Well THANK YOU......
greyghost
Shirley
and Rambling

That all makes sense. !!!
I had been looking for AGES and maybe after she turned 100 in December 2019 it suddenly popped up when I looked.
Think I will have to try and see factories in Paddington, or maybe she worked in her room???
Thanks again for taking the trouble to look for me.

The 2 records you're looking at

First name(s) Last name(s) Birth year Borough / District County Country Address

Joyce ? Baverstock 1919 St Marylebone London England 84 Queen Lodge, Billstore,Chuch Ann Hotel Bell Street

Joyce V Baverstock 1919 Paddington London England 22 Sovereign Street

There are 41 people listed at the Marylebone address - looking at image it says - Queen Lodge, 84 Bell Street only - on the Line where the listing starts. There might be more of an address on the line underneath but that is hidden.
I presume that this is accommodation/lodgings for working women as all listed are Female and Employed.

The Paddington address may be where she actually worked and she got listed in both places. Most of this page is hidden, indicating under age people on the whole and where lines are open a number of different addresses show with repeats.

Re 84 Bell Street Marylebone, appears to have been a church army house at some point

She's at

84 Queen Lodge, Billstore,Chuch Ann Hotel Bell Street, St Marylebone, London, England ( though it just appears to be Bell Street on image, )

and

22 Sovereign Street, Paddington, London, England

Household

Joyce V Baverstock 20 Dec 1919 Female Presser Of Ladies ? ( underwear) Single 302 1

I wonder if there has been some mistake on one or other and one address was where she was working ? Queen Lodge Bell st has lots of domestics living there also, and 2 Church Mission sisters. was it a home for young women?

Good Morning
I am now having trouble finding my Great Grandfather on the register.
Richard Smiles BEVAN born May 8th 1868 living in Brecon.
Just to say Richard had a Son called Richard Smiles BEVAN born 1905, I have found his Son.

Any ideas?

Regards

Many thanks for your interesting chats !!!!!

I was thinking, when the 1939 register was looked at, before names were closed they must have the original list?
When we send a death cert to prove a death could they not then put birthdays or something to then open up the record???
My Auntie could be in rented or anywhere, she was only 18 nearly 19.

Good Luck to you all. !!!!!!!

Thanks for your reply. I might try with an individual who is well past the 100 year period and see what happens. Worth a try.

I bet they are inundated with requests though! Took 2 weeks to get a reply from my request after sending the death certificate.

:-D

"when the transcriptions were made, the transcribers were given columns rather than lines"
Thanks for that Det. The transciber made it look as if one of my great aunts lived in a neighbourhood of swingers! LOL
I think FMP may have shot themselves in the foot by using this method as I've submitted corrections for just about every record I've looked at and I doubt I am alone. They're going to be busy.

At the moment, Elaine, that's correct.

I'd imagine that if they were born (current date) 1916 or earlier, that would be a good reason for requesting for them to be opened. In the case of a woman married before Sep 1939, you might want to submit the MC as related evidence or their original birth certificate.
Despite the number of world wide Centenarians increasing, they probably wouldn't be bothered if their details were on view. In fact, they might be quite chuffed :-D

I am surprised at how many records of people over 100 that are officially closed!

Am I correct in assuming you can't advise of individuals over 100, only individuals who have died and have supporting certificate evidence?

Many thanks

My aunt and uncle are closed records ................

uncle was born in 1894, and aunt in 1897

However, they both died in Australia so there is no GRO record of their deaths.

FMP has said that they will be carrying out continuous updating by consulting GRO records, and people are in fact already reporting records open that were previously closed

Hopefully, someone at FMP will realise that people born in the 1890s are almost certainly dead .......... or one of their English grandchildren will be willing to buy the Australian death certificates to open my relatives records!
