Iam searching for a John Joseph O'Brien born 8th July 1881 in Castlebar Co Mayo, he died in Salisbury Wilts in 1948.

The death record shows him as 64 yrs so may have birth year as 1884.

He was single and had joined the British Army before WW1.

Thank You

Better to ask about the same person on one thread to save helpers looking twice over for information

The information about the death place of John Joseph was given about 20yrs ago by a relation, he was single and when he died was returned to Ireland and buried in Castlebar. I have just noticed the death record was for Joseph J rather than John Joseph, the place Salisbury was given at death place perhaps I jumped to conclusion.

The Irish birth details are correct as posted above, just wondered if he was living with any relation in 1939, most siblings emigrated.

I put two separate posts as I thought people who had WW1 forces records may not have access to 1939 Register.

Thank you
