Thank you. I have sent her a message and am waiting to see if she reply's. It will be interesting for my father in law if he finds out he has cousins in Australia.

The same person who has Morton Mendelson on their tree on here also has Victor Evans b. 1910 on her tree. I would think that there is a good chance that Esther is Victor’s sister and your “Aunt Dolly”.

Thank you for finding Mary’s first marriage.

Thomas married in Edinburgh the second time and was a very active free mason which then would have at that time got him excommunicated. He was also a fan of Glasgow Rangers football club.

It is possible he simply changed religion to allow him to marry again. The Church of Scotland has for many years had a more relaxed attitude to divorce. Mr Owl and I married in the Church of Scotland and I’m wife number 2. All the minister asked is that I was not involved in the breakdown of Mr Owl’s first marriage.

I meant how did he wangle the divorce? He was baptised RC

In reality, I doubt if his divorced first wife's child (if there was one) would be known to any of your father-in-law's family................stretching credulity somewhat

He added another name and married as Thomas McFarlane Dale Russell in 1929.

Something I never thought of was first wife was a widow at the time of the marriage and wonder if a child from her first marriage could be aunt Dolly.
