Thank you once again ArgyllGran for the additional information.

What a sad little family, although not that unusual for that time.

Now I have something more concrete, I can go ahead and order certificates in the knowledge that they are the 'right' ones.

Best Wishes.

Looks like Joseph senior died just before Sarah:

No wonder the family broke up.

Oh dear I havent even taken my coat off yet!

I have just looked at Emma's marriage lines, which someone kindly sent me, you are right Sara's name is a bit flowery. I always thought it was Atkins.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 25 Sep 2021 18:46

Oh I have read ArgyllGran's post on Sarah Fluin.

That address would also fit, the family never moved more than a mile away, staying within Islington as far as I know.

So she did go on to have another family, she had a child when she was in her teens and the child was raised by the grandparents.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 25 Sep 2021 18:40

Just read back again.

I am more interested in Sarah. But I thought that Wm Lewis would be an easier name to research.

Sarah's parents were Geo. Cooper and Mary Ann Green.

I have her birth certificate, along with that of her sister Jessie.

Home again.

Well thank you both Erika and Argyll Gran. All your information has certainly given me something to think about, somewhere along the lines I have taken a misturn.

Yes indeed Emma did marry Jos Randall.

Great confusion with this line, as sister's given names were not the names they were known as, apart from Emma. They were also known as Sally, Tootsie and Polly!

Somehow I have been chasing my tail down a blind alley.

Sarah seemed to have disappeared as far as I was concerned. As it is a common name, I have wasted a lot of time, searching and ordering certificates.

Thank you both for your time, patience and information. I am very grateful.

Yes, I would say Sarah Fluin is definitely the witness name on Emma's marriage cert.

ArgyllGran Report 25 Sep 2021 18:01

In your opening post you said:

"1881 and 1891 Pleasant Passage, Islington."

Who?
George Cooper and family were in Campbell Road in 1881.
William Lewis (I believe) was in Highbury Park.

??? With a Louisa Cooper

That looks very much like a possibility for the indistinct surname on Emma’s marriage cert in 1900……….groom Joseph Randall

A later post

Sorry Erika I seem to have gone awry somehow. Thank you for you time and postings. Back to the drawing board, I seem to have taken a wrong turn somehow.

My understanding is the the OP is connected to the Coopers and wants to trace Sarah after 1891

EMMA born1879 is in her GR tree

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 25 Sep 2021 16:39

What was Sarah's mother's maiden name?

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 25 Sep 2021 16:30

Although the opening post seems to be primarily about Sarah, William is the title subject of the thread

At 13:37 the OP said:

"Thank you Erika. I think I have the 1901, and believe he was born in 1860, so any of the interim would be great. I really want his parents. Thanks."

I believe I have posted them - Thomas and Mary Ann.
