Is it possible for you to look for William Vickery born c1832 Old Cleeve Somerset - on censuses before 1861 as later ones show name as Vicary or Vickery - am particularly interested in finding details of his parents and siblings if at all possible. Thanks Janette

Carole Report 11 May 2006 17:20

Dear Linda Had a brainwave, must be the weather! I have checked my fam tree on Genes. Ann had 5 children and Elizabeth Wright would still be at home as she was married 2 yrs later, but I am almost certain Ann's husband was dead by 1841, but his name was Marlborough Wright. There was Ralph, Mary, Christopher & Ann also but I think they would have left home (well some of them) the address could be somewhere in Bedford, Westleigh or Pennington (these are all in Leigh Lancs). I will check your message tomorrow as I don't have a computer at home so don't think I am being rude for not replying. Thank you for taking the time to look. Regards CAROLE

Thank you Linda, the only one I can think of is her daughter Ann as all her other children will have left home I think. Is it ok if I get back tomorrow, I am at work and havn't got my family history with me? I looked at the records in the Library at dinner and got a crick in my neck! Regards CAROLE

Carole Report 11 May 2006 14:30

That's very kind of you. Looking for Ann Wright born 1792 in Leigh Lancashire. By 1841 I'm pretty sure think she will be a widow and she could be living with her daughter Ann who would be about 16. If I'm not being cheeky could you check 1851 +1861by which time I think she was dead. Regards CAROLE

Linda,Thanks for looking. You have found the right marriage in 1880 on the 1881,which is where I hit a brick wall.It is a very confusing, they must have been in Liverpool in 1861,as Roger was born there about 1856.Rogers are very few in Liverpool,so I think he may have used another name.I am grateful to you,and you are so very quick,I dont know how you do it. Margaret.

Linda. I am mortified that you got my first message.Obviously the dates wouldnt help, It is the son I need, because he was called Roger on the other census,s, and Roger on his marriage cert in 1881 ,and I can find no trace of a Roger or his wife after that. Her maiden name was KELLY,and they lived in Collingwood St, after marriage, not with parents.Roger was supposed to have 'died young' I think he must have used another name? It drives me mad. They are my grandparents,if I can beleive my mother? Thanks again. Margaret
