Maybe I was on the right track................hense I asked if mothers name might be Elizabeth earlier ! this is 1891 Caroline Davenport abt 1872 Southwark, London, England Daughter St George the Martyr London *** Charles Davenport abt 1880 Southwark, London, England Son St George the Martyr London Elizabeth Davenport abt 1850 Southwark, London, England Wife St George the Martyr London Elizabeth Davenport abt 1874 Southwark, London, England Daughter St George the Martyr London George Davenport abt 1849 Southwark, London, England Head St George the Martyr London Harry Davenport abt 1877 Southwark, London, England Son St George the Martyr London Isabele Davenport abt 1876 Southwark, London, England Daughter St George the Martyr London John Davenport abt 1882 Southwark, London, England Son St George the Martyr London Joseph Davenport abt 1887 Southwark, London, England Son St George the Martyr London in 1901 I've found Mum/Dad and Son Joseph ( plus a couple of grand kids ) but can't find the other children including Charles. George is a dock Lab. Not sure if I'm helping or making things worsr ...LOL

So do you think the 1891 family are the right lot? They're living at 7, Little Hunter street?

A carman was a delivery driver usually working for an employer. Could possibly be self-employed doing general haulage with his own horse and covered cart or wagon.

mmm - not sure what a Carman is ??? The DOB for George is pretty close though its 1856, although he is a Master Builder not a labourer. Have you found Charles on 1881 or 1891 ? Cheers...Paul

I thought I'd found a possible in St George the Martyr but I'm not sure now - the father was George and he was a dock Lab. !

Esta - the only marriage I can find for his father is either to a SARAH or ELIZA ANN so I suppose it could say Elizabeth!
