*** F.A.O. Donna. *** Greeting’s Again Donna….. Following my visit to the Records Office this afternoon Here are the details found Baptism for St. Peter & Paul. Parish Church Wing. Rutland. :- Page 6. Entry No. 43. 6th Day of June. 1818. Thomas Son of Joseph & Martha Bagley. Father’s Occupation = Labourer. Place of birth = Wing. John Dashwood. Rector. Of Wing. So I lost my bet then….:0/ (Thought it would be a William ) Marriage found.:- St. Peter & Paul Parish Church Wing. Rutland. Page. 3. Entry. 9. Joseph Bagley Bachelor of this Parish. Martha Barfield. Window of this Parish. Following Banns. This Twenty Sixth Day of January In the year of our Lord. One Thousand Eight Hundred & Eighteen. By me = Henry Shield. Rector of PRESTON in Rutland. Both Joseph & Martha signed by their Marks = + Wit’s :- Elizabeth Rose. Mary Franks. I have not found anymore details for Joseph & Martha on 1851. Census. or within the Wing Burials But I have updated Paul of the above details. Paul has Found a Thomas Bagley aged 20. a Male servant within Wing on the 1841.Census. Full details hopefully by the weekend Paul is a serving Naval Officer who is away at Sea Till the weekend so has not got all his disks with him And he can only use PC for 20 minutes per day … Oh….. I did try and find a Baptism for that Thomas Bond Bagley Who’s burial I found aged 16 months But drew a blank not within the years 1886 ~ 1890. But seeing the Baptisms for other Bagley’s Who have two Posh christen names the Parents could be a Arthur & Alice Bagley ? But I an’t putting any money on this one….. this time …lol :0))) I’ll have a look for your other look up ( Williamson’s )… latter on And get back to you ….. MIKE.

Would anyone have time to look up a marriage entry for me? The person I'm interested in is Ortraymer (aka Ort Raymur or Orfraymuir) Brewin - his name seems to have defeated most of the transcribers :-) Born Leicester 1853, parents Francis Warren Brewin and Virtue Steel, married Leicester 1875, butcher. According to the 1881 census his wife was called Belle, but I haven't managed to identify her so far. There are only 3 names on his marriage entry page, and the other two seem to have married each other. The only likely candidate I've found, who appears on a page by herself in the September quarter of 1875, is Arabella Simkin, but the censuses don't confirm it. According to the 1881 census, Belle Brewin was born in Newtown Linford c1855, but I haven't found anyone with a similar name by searching for all Newtown Linford births on the IGI site. I should love to know where Ortraymer's name comes from. There's nothing of the kind in his mother's family, which I've traced back quite a long way, but his nephew Thomas Mallet had the middle name Ort-Raymur, and there's also a James Ort-Raymur Smith, who's presumably related to the family somehow. Ortraymer's father Francis Warren Brewin was born in Leicester c1827 and died in 1887 (the same year as Ortraymer - was there a war on?). I can't find his birth entry to discover who his parents were. I can't find him in the 1881 census either; a Frank Brewin, married, butcher, was lodging at the Foundry Arms, Belgrave Gate, Leicester, but his age is given as 50, which doesn't match. At the time of that census, Francis' wife Virtue was staying with her son-in-law, whose wife had just died, and is shown as married, housekeeper. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Mary
