Special thoughts for you and your family as you say your goodbyes. I am sure there will be smiles as well as tears as you remember happier times together.

Just found this thread Leanne. So sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my own dad this year too, so know exactly how you're feeling.

I still can't believe my dad has gone, but it is getting a little bit easier, like people told me it would.

My sympathy to you and your family on your sad loss of your Dad, may he rest in peace now.

Don't hold back too much, it is ok to let our youngsters know that crying is a release when we lose loved ones, so that they don't lock feelings inside.

You will have good days and bad days and I hope you have some loving support for you, as well as you being strong for others.

Please accept my sincere condolences.

You have done already some of what is called grieving, when you looked after your Dad. A Dad is very precious. It will seem as if he / you are the only ones it has happened to; you will wonder why the world carries on as normal; how can life just carry on, when the biggest disaster has happened?

I'll be thinking of you - now, next week, and afterwards.

Dearest Leanne
What a wonderful proud father your dad must have been to have such a wonderful daughter nurse him until his passing. I bet there is a special star twinkling in the sky - and that will be your dad looking down on you and giving you a wink letting you know he is well and safe and that he will love you always as you will love him always.
God bless you
lots of love
