There will be threads full of women chatting, or discussing

Or threads full of one man and lots of women chatting to the man, or discussing ( or about him lol )

But when have we seen a thread with just men chatting?......tis not as if there are too few men on here.

Mick from the Bush Report 19 Aug 2008 00:49

Its simple-

Men only speak when they have something to say.

OH reckons that many men don't chat.
They discuss a subject in clipped phrases, but don't describe and talk round a subject like we do.

Seriously though....was just thinking the other day.....men and women are sooooo different......seem like a different species sometimes.

would still like to know why they don't have conversations with each other on here though.....must be a reason.

Susan719813 Report 19 Aug 2008 01:11

Yes but we don't see many men speaking to each other.....I get on with a few of them, as do most peeps....but it is either on a thread which they answer a serious question.....or to pop up and say something witty.....no discussions though.

Men have a different way of speaking that doesn't open up conversation.... They deal in facts ( or perceived facts )
eg.
Giving directions they might say ." Take the second street on the left, then turn 1st right."
We might say
" Go along this road until you get to the traffic lights. Go straight on, pass the supermarket, until you see the Vets. on the corner and turn left there. When you see the church on the right hand side, turn right at the next junction"

lol Susan, it seems our top "vocalists" on the guy side all seem to live alone lol go figure, the nice chatty ones seem to disappear after a bit, I wouldnt really like mine to have millions of cyber chatty girlfriends...Chatty in general yes if it's about boytoys, we females are far too smart to fall for all that hype...I'm sure they all read with interest and surprise their otherhalfs with info they have read on here nice really I suppose lollol...

Susan719813

Susan719813 Report 19 Aug 2008 01:18

Youv'e lost me now Gwynne.....in fact I got lost the minute you got to the traffic lights ....so it can't just be a man thing Lol

edit....ooo Dame...that is sooooo cynical lol......I am sure there are some really nice men who don't come under that catagory......don't forget....there are supposed to be millions of em out there looking in on this Family History Site ( Phew!....got outa that one lol )....am sooo trying to be objective here and not let my natural born cynisism against men rear it's ugly head ( how am I doing :-))))

Those who've met me know that I can talk for England, ...'Hello Liz' :))

I get on with most people and love to chat.As a student I had many friends who just happened to be male and when I married it was strange at first...and annoying.. to be away from men as friends and in a situation where it was more acceptable to have women friends.
...not because of OH I might add.

Susan719813 Report 19 Aug 2008 01:36

They are probably all tucked up in bed by now ......my own thoughts are........they are scared of us.....only Mick has answered so far...and he has disappeared.....shivvering in his boots no doubt :-)))))

Yers......I had some great male friends......doesn't do to marry one methinks....they seem to turn into the stereotype.......

another thought.....funny how we can run men down on here and vice versa....and not get reported for being sexist......I suppose it must be something that is taken for granted :-)

Mick from the Bush

Mick from the Bush Report 19 Aug 2008 01:55

Hmmm - interesting thoughts ladies.
Yes- male conversation is information based.
When a woman is telling me something,
I often think to myself - "get to the flamin' point!"-
-women waffle off into so much detail that
is irrelevant (to men).
