I'm not sure I particularly notice to start with if posters are male or female, it's difficult to tell anyway, with some of the board names, what sex people are.

I won't name names but, over the years, for weeks I've thought a few posters were male who, it transpires, were actually female and vice versa.

There are a few I'm still not 100% sure about.

Gwyn, how very dare your OH say men don't chat? I've met him and he does chat. lol

Men dont get a chance sometimes,so many women about .Us women do tend to talk more :))

I also think they stay clear of a lot of threads in fear of being accused of something lol.

There's a gentleman called Cliff who used to chat with Stelly and me in the early hours; another gentleman, Peter on the Isle of Wight, he would chat.

Then there's other gentlemen, too: ie Uggers, Harry Hayes, Fred, Twizz, Glen, Paul Barton, my cousin Tony in Oz etc.

Good morning, Christine.

Peter is fine; I see him when I pop into Raven's site.

i think it depends where men are. My OH doesn't chat on line and if he sends e mails they are very brief. But get him down the golf club with other golfers and the women have to fight to get a word in. Get him talking about his garden he chats as Daff will agree!!!!

A couple of the men on here chat. Colin in Hampshire springs to mind and uggers, although to be fair uggers only 'chats' if he has something to say. i think that is more it, women can waffle and men don't.

Hi Susan :):)

I suppose I am lucky in a way that I can converse with most people quite freely male or female. I love to have a laugh and a joke with anyone generally and also keep an open mind on most subjects. I can become quite deep in discussion if I feel I understand a subject but always try to respect anothers opinion if different to my own.

I enjoy chatting

Colin :):)

Gwynne Lol

I did that for more than two weeks and felt a right ejit when I found out that the poster was female and not male.....funny how one's form of chat quickly changes. :-)))

Gail.....Hmmm! not sure I could hack that.....not my best in the morning and a chatting Oh would drive me crackers......mind you.....wouldn't mind if he spoke more than a sentence a day, but preferably not about work :-))))

Marion.....Tsk!.....who's side are you on?...Talk more?....Us....never!

ooo Christine....well said!....and twice at that :-)))

Meercat...

Ah...but think back.....can you or anyone remember when they first met......full of chat and more than one liners then.......sides...when with other men they can waffle more than women methinks.

Waffle! Ann.....now why is it we are supposed to waffle and they talk Common sense ?( Colin of Hampshire excluded of course :-))))).....my Oh misses all important parts of a conversation because he thinks it's all waffle.

Tony in Oz is your Cousin Joy?.....Fancy that!......just shows what one learns without trying :-).

Now there is one thing I noticed us ladies do ( me included )...which is....not answer the question which was asked in the first place :-))))))
Which was ( without looking, that is ).....Why men on here don't have discussions with each other, but chat away to the women quite easily.

There must be more men about to answer this .....tis not just a chatting up thing.....there must be a more in depth answer....surely?

Susan

PS.....sheesh!....I have tried to answer everyone and my hat goes off to those who do it regularly after leaving a thread for a while....( not been one of my better traits I must admit )

OK, I can take a hint and know when I'm not wanted.
