what will you do when your family tree is finished? (I know it never ends but you could pretend)

I already make all my greeting cards and do scrap books and photography, walk when I have time and read, write letters (a lot of). I think my time is filled!!

oh it does sound like it is Ann :-) What does your photography involve?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 11 Apr 2009 15:01

lesley,
I have been using a camera since I was eleven, my dad loved photography and I learnt on a kodak concertina fold up model.
I take all sorts of photos, digital these days, used to love taking the Grandchildren but they are too old now and camera shy. Take a lot of flowers, holiday photos, scenic, anything really. More of a snapper these days than a photographer I'm afraid, in our last house I had a dark room and took black and white photos and developed and printed them, great fun.

what does the scrap booking involve? do you buy a kit or do you do everything from scratch?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 11 Apr 2009 15:21

I buy the scrap book then everything else I buy separately such as backing papers embellishments etc. I mainly work with 12x12 scrap books and have done a family tree one in this format, but the current one I am doing is for my grandsons 21st in July and is 8x8 format.

Wouldn't mind feeding carrots to some horses but they're too scary to ride..

AnninGlos Report 11 Apr 2009 15:43

the scrap book has photos, with pages starting with Gt grandparents, then Grandparents right up to Grandchildren. Each page contains journalling (which is common to modern scrap books), this details the part of the tree that the photos refer to, their parents, children. so as you follow the book through the pages link. with myself, i have me as a child, me and OH meeting and then getting married, having children etc.

that sound's really interesting Ann, I'll have to look into it. Maybe a little safer than me on a horse. pam will probably think I'm a wimp now (probably right :-) )

Love to look at horses but you wouldn't get me up on one. I can imagine on a fine sunny day iit would be lovely if you were used to them though. Beware if you start scrap booking it is addictive Lesley. There are lots of web sites devoted to it. There is a scrap bookers thread on here too.

do you frame them Joan? My daughter used to do a lot of cross stitch and has several lovely ones framed. I have done a couple of smaller ones which are hanging in the lounge but don't really have time with everything else i do.
