My mate Stan joined the local amature dramatics society,
he had had no previous acting experience but thought he would give it a go,

The following weekend there was to be a play based on the
American civil war, one of the members had gone down with
the flu,,,so Stan was invited to take his place in the play
Stan was rather nervous but the producer said not to worry
Stan only had to say one line,,,,,he was told to imagine the,
sound of a canon fireing, then say out loud,,,,,,,,

Hark is that canon that I here !!!
Stan thought this rather easy so accepted the part
for the rest of the week all any one heard was,,
Hark is that canon that I here,,,,,by the weekend
Stan had it off to a tee

Come the night the whole town turned up to watch
the play, along with several dignitaries, the place was
sold out.,,,then came Stans big moment

All of a sudden there was a loud crash of gunpowder
as the canon fired to which Stan dived for cover exclaiming

WHAT THE @@@@ WAS THAT!!!!!!

Needless to say that was the end of Stans thespian yearnings
