Hi Everyone i

I Have a member on here who is requesting to me to remove myself from his threads but I have not had any contact with him whatsoever so I don't know what he is talking about, so I can't remove anyone on my thread where he thinks he is attached because he is not on there, I find this very worrying.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? Because I don't know where he is coming from.

Thank you in advance.

Darkie

Run that by me again...you have had a request by someone not to post on his threads or remove posts already on his thread?

Hi Everyone

Thank you very much for your replies, but the nick name I use, use to be my Grandads nickname and if this is offending him or anyone else then I will use another nickname, I did not think anything of it at the time so that member (you know who you are please e-mail me if you still have a problem and I will try and help as much as I can) I do not want to offend you in any way.

Hi Johnathon

I have e-mailed this person back to see what he means.

Thank you.

Hi CarolB

He said he would be obliged if I could take my threads off his thread as he does not how to do it, but he and I have never had any contact whatsoever as far as I am aware.

He does not appear in any of my threads but only the e-mail he he has sent me today requesting this.

This is why I am getting a bit concerned.

Hi Everyone

Thank you very much I will ask him which thread he means once and if he replies back to my e-mail, I will sleep on it and if he does come back then I will cross that bridge when it arises.

Hi Darkie

if the search I just did is accurate you haven't added to that many threads put up by other members.

So do you know the person who is asking you this and just don't know the reason why? In which case best PM him.

I had a PM from someone yesterday and I didn't have a clue who it was. Until I realised which thread she might be talking about & when I clicked on her community name in that thread it showed me she was the person who was PMing me.

I assume you do mean thread as in thread on one of the message boards. First you need to establish which board and the title of the thread.

You don't mean tree do you?

If this person doesn't know how to remove threads etc then they may have not been here very long, and may mean your posts off his threads. If he doesn't say which posts or thread he is on about, there isn't much you can do, so I wouldn't worry, as long as you have not said anything offensive he shouldn't be bothered.

Used to know a chap called Darkie Green years ago, this has reminded me of him, had loads of tattoos and always tanned easily, dark hair and eyes so assume that's why he got his nickname.

Hi Everyone

I have just had another look at my threads again and this member that has e-mailed me again, he is saying that I appear under his threads and he would like me to delete my thread from his threads, but I don't know how to do it and he does appear in my threads too, my thread is on the Records Board under 1911 census and he has added to that thread.

Sorry everyone for me not picking this information up sooner.

Please advise how to delete and hopefully this will help him out.

Regards

Darkie

Darkie, I think if you need help you are going to have to send one of us a personal message (PM) by clicking on one of our names. You can then maybe mention the person's name as it will not show on the board, and the thread in question. It will be easier to help you then. PM me if you like.

Hi, if I look at the posts on this thread, my post and only mine has (to me) bottom left hand corner three words: Edit delete add. To delete your own post on a thread just press the delete. you cannot delete somebody elses post because you are not given the choice of these three words. to delete a thread that you have put up you go to the first post you put on your thread and press the delete. That will remove the whole thread.

Is this person asking you to remove your Posting from his thread, Darkie, but you don't have a clue which thread it is?

Taff Report 18 Apr 2009 16:43

I've just been through Darkies threads on Records, and I can see one deletion, I wonder is this the person who has asked for him/her to delete his post( I take it thats what its meant to mean)?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 18 Apr 2009 16:52

It's on the 1911 thread Taff.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 18 Apr 2009 16:57

No it is still there 1911, 24 Jan 09, the post has not been removed. Nothing wrong with the post anyway so I can't see why the poster wants to remove it.

Due respects, Ann Glos, but are the words 'post' and 'thread' being confused again, here? Don't know, but as a Newby, I'm still a little unrobust around the two things, which have a difference in meaning.

Hiya Meri, just to make it clear, this is a "thread" and you are "posting" on it.
You are able to delete your "posting" but not the thread, only Darkie or GR can do that.
Hope this helps to clarify things.
