Hello Everyone,

Hope all's well with you all today!

Huia, the in the ear hearing aid that I have, was quite a lot of money. I thought that one of the more expensive hearing aids ,would be a lot better than a cheaper one, but it looks as though I have been proved wrong.
Mind you, it might be that I have an odd shaped ear. The family keep telling me that I should go back and tell them what's happening - I've already been back a few times and it's still no better - so whats the point of going again.
It sounds like a good idea using the photos to make calendars. I'm sure you family and friends will be thrilled with them.
Hope hubby is alright.

Jean, how are you and J today?
Hope you are getting use to your hearing aids!

Mo, hope both you and Roly are both alright. Pleased to hear that your grandson is better.
It's very quiet on here, we usually hear from Debbie, I hope all is well with her and her family.

I'm off to visit my friend in hospital this evening, she had her operation yesterday, the sister told her husband when he phoned yesterday, that as far as they can tell, everything looks alright.

Jennie had her medication yesterday, she's fine ( touch wood ) , so lets hope it continues. Friday, she has another colonoscopy, fingers crossed that the medication is doing it's job.

Speak to everyone soon.

Best wishes,

Sallie.xx

Hi to you all.
Sallie I am so glad your friends op went well,now lets pray she continues to progress.
I hope that Jennies colonoscopy,goes well,and that her medication has helped. Does she feel better for being on it.
Huia,if you are doing calenders,let us know on here, I would like to buy one from you,especially if it is about your surrounding area. It sounds a wonderful way to make money for a worthwhile cause,i.e the voluntary Fire
Brigade,they do such a brilliant job.
Sallie,did Debbie say she was having a holiday this week. I know Sue is away,as well as Marilyn.
I don't know all these holiday makers. Even our Jean will be booking a break away soon.
I don't suppose we will get away much before October. We normally go to Blackpool for my birthday.
Mind you,that all depends on how Roly gets on with the gastro enterologist
in August.
Well girls I will love you and leave you. Take care. Love to you all. Mo xxx

We are going out for a meal on Sunday,to celebrate our grandaughters birthday.
Hopefully most of the family will be there. I love it when we all get together
like that.
What's everyones weather been like. We have had sunshine and showers. We had a bad storm again last night,more thunder and lightening.
I hope you are all well. And I hope to hear from you soon.
Love and best wishes. Mo xxx

Oh Jean you are a one. Join the club.
Poor J. I bet he doesn't know if he is coming or going. Your original clinic is the one to believe,as they have been following J from the beginning,and
have seen J at his worst,and seen how well he has progressed.
Give him a hug from me,and tell him to keep his chin up.
Enjoy your Golden Wedding celebrations. Just make sure you don't disappear up your own BTM,rushing around like that.
Love to you both. Mo xxx

Hello All,

Mo, it's been raining off and on all day here, and quite heavy at times.
I hope you all enjoy your meal on Sunday. I'm the same as you, I love it when we all get together.

My friend is doing really well, she hopes to be home sometime over the weekend. I've been to visit her over the last two days, so didn't go today.

Jennie had a colonoscopy today, the medication is working, thank goodness. So lets hope that it will continue to do so! The Consultant was telling Jennie as she was having the colonoscopy, that the eight week dose of medication that she has, costs £1,500, we knew it was expensive, but not that expensive.

Jean, hope J got on alright at the clinic today. Hope the weather was better for you, than it was for us.

Hope everyone else is alright.

Have a nice weekend.

Best wishes,

Sallie.

Have a lovely time at the Golden Wedding party tomorrow night.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

All the best,

Sallie.

Hi all.
My goodness Sallie,Jennies treatment was expensive. But then thats what we pay our national insurance stamps for.
I am so pleased to hear eveything went well for her.
I wonder how our Jean got on today. I dare say that there was a streak of lightening flashing through lancashire today,under the name of Jean. Agh
bless her likkle cotton socks.
Have a wonderful time Jean. Eat Drink and be merry.
I believe it is this weekend,that Marilyn and Debbie and Sue should be home.
If you are looking in girls,I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
Well really,we all know Marilyn has been having fun,sunning herself by the pool all day,and having a lovely swim to cool down.
I wonder how Marie is,we have not heard from her in a while.
Coooeee Huia,hows you mate,and your OH.
Well I am going to make myself a lovely cuppa tea now.
So take care one and all. Love Mo xxx

Hi Everyone,

How are all you ladies keeping? I hope you are all well.

Mo, yes Jennie's medication is really expensive. One of the nurses, always ring her early in the morning of her appointment, to make sure that she is goimg to turn up, once they mix the medication, it has to be used, within so many hours. Apparently, in the past, some patients haven't turned up, and didn't even have the courtesy to let the hospital know. Such a waste of money!
My friend has come home today, We picked her up about 12 0'clock.

I hope Jean and J will have a lovely time at the party tonight.

It will be nice when all our friends are back, it's very quiet on here without them.

It's been a nice day here, managed to get the washing dried.

I am now going to do a page of the scrapbook I am doing for a relative's 80th birthday.

Mo, hope all is well with both you and Roly. Enjoy your meal out with the family tomorrow. Take care!

Love,

~~~~~yoohoo to all from a dark New Zealand. It is just after 7 am and I am taking hubby up to west Auckland so he can go for a tramp (hike to you) with his 2 'girlfriends'. Unfortunately it will be just a short one in the morning so I wont get much time to window shop and have a catch-up sleep. But at least it will be a break for both of us. I sometimes feel as if we are joined at the hip.
Better go and sort out what he is going to wear. He is hopeless at getting dressed now - good clothes for messing around at home and working clothes when we go out.
Did you manage to get to look round the shops.
Thr tramps,don't seem to be tiring your O.H out any more do they.
It must be soooo tiring for you.
Have another sleeping tablet,if it gets to much for you.
Can't your O.H have sleeping tablets,to knock him out for the night.
I think you are so strong,coping on your own like you do.
Hows your calender making going. I don't suppose you get much free time,to enjoy your hobby.
I will say goodnight to you both. Take care. Love Mo xxx
Hello Ladies
I am back and with a tan. Lovely weather up to friday and had a room over looking the sea. My eldest had his own room looking over the sea as well.
Spent time playing on the beach in sand banks and had lots of fun.
I have eaten loads of good food and I am not looking forward to see how much weight I have gained.
Forgot to hand my room keys in so had to post them back. Luckly they saw the funny side.
Spent all day washing and ironing and I am back to work tomorrow. Soon get back to normal life.
Sallie good to read your Daughter is ok.
Have a good time with your family tomorrow MO.
Hope you had a nice time at your friends party Jean.
My eldest has just signed up to a new football team so pleased he is going to get back into his sport.
Bye for now from
Sue
Huia Report 19 Jul 2009 04:31
MO, my hubby was dozing as I drove home after lunch (a 1 hour drive but we stopped to pick up milk and one or 2 other bits on the way).
I did have a quick look at some shops up there, bought him a small radio as his transistor radio which he has had for a lifetime (almost) is no longer putting out any volume. He has to hold it to his ear or use earphones, but it is not stereo so comes into only 1 ear. The new radio is the size of a small digital camera, but the sound is not as good as it was on his old radio. I have one I bought about 4/5 yrs ago for playing tapes while I waited for choir (tape deck in the wagon had given up.) I think it might be a better bet for him when once I have marked the 'on/off' switch. He has difficulty knowing what he is doing and usually finishes up off his favourite station. I try to keep things as simple as possible for him.
He had a nice walk, or I presume he did, but on the way home he asked if he had seen R (his main 'girlfriend') today.
I managed about 90 mins deep uninterrupted sleep. We have a utility vehicle with a bench seat and I take a couple of cushions to use for pillows. I can get reasonable comfy. The deep uninterrupted sleep is something I dont get at home. Yesterday I tried to have a nap on the settee and every so often OH was standing by me offering a cuppa or asking if I wanted the veges peeled. I might try another short nap after I have finished my cuppa.
Hi All,
It's lovely to hear from Sue and Marie again. we miss you both when you are not around.
Sue, so pleased that you had a good holiday. You made me laugh when you told us about taking the hotel keys home with you. You are good getting all the washing and ironing done yesterday. I dried the washing yesterday, we've had heavy showers today, so am pleased I did it yesterday now.
Marie, sorry to hear that your family have all been poorly. I hope they will all be feeling much better in a couple of days. Hope you don't pick up anything off them. It will be good when you can get back into doing the things that you like to do yourself.
Jean, glad that you had a good time at the party. Isn't it nice when other people tell you how nice you look? It's so nice to receive compliments. I think it gives us a boost, it makes us feel good.
Jennie always tells me that I scrub up well. A sort of compliment!
Huia, I've always had to watch Alun with his clothes, he'll put a good top on to do jobs around the house, and put the old ones on to go out in. All the years we have been married, he's been the same. In Alun's case, I think it might be an inherited trait, because his dad was just the same. My
mother-in- law use to go mad at him.
Mo, hope you and Roly have enjoyed your meal out with the family. Hope your granddaughter has had a lovely birthday. Is it her bithday today? I forgot to ask that.
Jennie and Michael have been to dinner today. I love it when they come, they are both always so happy and cheerful, even though they have their problems with one thing and another. As they say, there are people who are a lot worse off!
Debbie, if you are looking in, hope we hear from you soon.
Marilyn, not sure when you get home, if you are still in the US, enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Well ladies, I must go and do a few jobs now, Richard (son) and his girlfriend are coming up for a few days a week on Wednesday, so I'm trying to get organised bit by bit. It's easier that way!
Speak to you all soon. Take care everyone!
Best wishes,
Oh my lord,this is soooo good to hear from you all at once.
Before I forget,we had a wonderful meal. My daughter,two of my grandaughters,my grandaughters boy friend,and us two.
After the meal,we went to our sons pub,and played pool,and darts.
I was o.k at the darts,but had never played pool,so I was rubbish at it,but I
beat Roly at darts,and that was more important to me. We had a real giggle,and thoughroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Oh Sue,what are we going to do with you. It's a good job your head is screwed on. lol.
It sounds like you had a fabulous time.
Good to hear that your son is getting back into his footy,especially as he used to enjoy it so much.
It's good to hear you managed to get a bit of rest Huia. But nothing can replace a full nights sleep is there,so get your catnaps when you can love.
How is the OH getting on with his new radio?. It will be confusing for him,
until such time as he has had it for a while. Even then,it is so easy to lose a station isn't it. I am such a ditz,I can do it so easily myself.
Hello Marie,good to speak to you again.
Sorry to hear of the illness in the family. It has been going on for a while now,hasn't it. Bless them all.
Have you got many swine flu cases over there?. We seem to have an epedemic over here.
Lot's of schools,local to us,had to close earlier for the school holidays,due to lots of children catching it.
It sounds so cold over there at the moment. I am a bit afraid to tell you,that
we have had it quite nice here,in Kent. Other parts of the country have not fared as well as us though.
Jean,I am glad D is better now. Did the tamiflu help her?.
It sounds like you had a really good time last night.
I think I am like you. If we do go out and don't get back till late,I cannot sleep properly. I seem to relive all that has gone on all evening,over and over in my mind.
Thats the problem when you have a regular sleep pattern,and it gets disturbed by doing something different.
Still we cannot live in a cocoon can we.
It sounds like you have had a busy day Sallie, I hope you have not worn yourself out.
It's nice that you have got family coming soon,enjoy.
I have forgotton where you live now,see it's my ditzy side coming out again.
It's just that you said that,your son was coming up for a few days.
Well now I have bored the pants off you all,I will love you and leave you.
Take care,love to you all. Mo xxx ~~~~~~~~~~to Marilyn~~~~~~~~~~~
Mo, so pleased you had a lovely day with the family. Well done on beating Roly at darts. I can't play darts nor pool, so when we go out altogether I just watch. I'm the same with ten pin bowling. Hopeless!
We live in Derbyshire, and Richard lives three miles from Heathrow Airport. He went to universety in London seven years ago. When he got his degree he decided to stay down there. He now works in Windsor, which is better than commuting into London every day. His girlfriend is from the London area, so I don't think he will be coming back this way to live. As long he's healthy and happy that's the main thing.
Good to have everyone back on here. We only have to hear from Debbie now.
Speak to you tomorrow.
