Jean, I did put Vic on his chest, and the soles of his feet, but Vic found it uncomfortable, and asked to get off. lol Now since when have I ever behaved myself, apart from when I am poorly, and feeling sorry for meself. The trouble with me onesie is, that every time I need the loo, it's a darned nuisance keep having to take it off, to spend a penny.
Aaah Sallie, poor lickle dog, no wonder he is frightened when the winds ablowing like it has been lately, it's enough to scare the life out of even the bravest human being, let alone a poor animal. He just wants extra cuddles from his new mummy and daddy.
I do hope the rain holds off tomorrow, I want to get out and about in the fresh air, rather than having to stay indoors because of it being so wet outside. We had lovely sunshine this morning, but by mid afternoon it had turned cold again. I couldn't take advantage of the good weather, as we were out with friends up at the club, as usual practising darts. Mind you, it doesn't make me any better, so I don't know why I bother. :-D :-D :-D
I hope everyone is keeping well, Ann, Sylvia, Marie and our Huia, take care one and all. Love and hugs, Mo xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone
another worrying phone call this morning!
This time, it was son-i-l who apparently went into a "deep funk", whatever that means, and daughter took him to Emergency at 5:30 am!
She phoned about 9 hours later to tell me the story, and to say they were about to go home. S-i-l had seen 3 nurses, 2 doctors, and a very helpful psychiatrist, who had given him some very good "coping strategies".
I think he is beginning to realise how big are some of the marital problems, and he doesn't have the ability to deal with them without retreating into himself.
She said he was much better after the talks, and they are both planning to go back to work tomorrow, even if for only part of the day.
She herself is recovering well from the operation.
On a more cheerful note .................. it has been a lovely day here. The sun came out, and the sky was blue. Unfortunately, it was only about 3C :-(
Take care everyone

Oh my god Sylvia, 9 hours in A+E is horrendous. It sounds like he was going round with his head in the sand for a while, whereas your daughter was trying her damndest to keep things together. Mind you, with his past history, it's not surprising is it really. Bless her your daughter has had a lot to contend with. As long as your daughter is feeling fine, going back to work, for a bit of space, sounds a good idea. I hope things work out for her Sylvia. Take care. Mo xxx

Sylvia, sorry to know that you have had some more worrying news, about your SiL. I hope that he will get some help him with some of the problems he has. It sounds as though your daughter have had to carry a lot on her shoulders for a long while. Now that things have come ' to a head ' let us hope that things can now move forward for both of them.
So pleased to know that your daughter is recovering so well from her operation and that if she is well enough to go back to work, not to overdo things for a while.
Hope that you and OH are both getting along alright and that your leg is healing well.
Mo, pleased that you are feeling better and that you were able to go out yesterday. Hope you did well with your darts practice. Also hope that Roly is feeling better too.
Alun has started with another cold tonight, so I am going to try and keep away from him as much as I can.lol!!
Jean, Ann, Huia and Marie, thinking about you all and hope that you are all alright.
Speak to you all later.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hello Girls, how are you all today, I hope that you are all okay. It's been very quiet on all the threads this last couple of weeks. Wonder if all the rain we are having is damping down every ones enthusiasm for chatting.lol!!
Jean, pleased that you have received the dies that you bid for, well done!
I am looking forward to starting to make cards again, shouldn't be too long now.
Tomorrow we are going down to S. Wales for the day, it's my cousin's 82nd birthday so we are all meeting for a meal to celebrate, there will be nine of us altogether, so looking forward to it. Only thing is, that she has dementia, and although she recognises us all, she can't remember any of our names. We thought that it would be nice to celebrate her birthday this year while she still remembers us all, because sadly goodness knows what she will be like next year.
Mo, how are things with both you and Roly? I hope that you are a lot better and that Roly is feeling a bit better.
Ann, I love the last lot of your cards on the blog. Sorry I am not able to make a comment on there.
Sylvia, hope you and OH are alright, and that your leg has healed now. Also hope that things are getting easier for your daughter and son-in-law and also that your daughter is still making a good recovery.
Huia, and Marie, hope all is well with you both and with both of your families.
Will speak to you all soon.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Dear Ladies
Hello to you all.
It was lovely that you added to my post about the half pence piece.
Have you done excavation work for coins?
It was great shame when the programme with Tony Robinson on Channel 4 ended.
I really enjoyed the dig he and others did on a street in the East End and there were many surprises and the nice thing was everyone was included and could learn abut the history of their neighbourhood.
With very best wishes to ALL of you.
Take gentle care of yourselves Love Elizabeth, xx

Oooh Elizabeth, what an interesting thread you have started about pre decimal coinage. Very often my OH and myself try to relate back to those days, but have to give up, because it depresses us knowing how much things have increased in price. My children would get sixpence pocket money, and were able to buy enough sweets to last them a week. Try giving a child the equivalent these days, and it's impossible. Even ten pence wont buy them sweets. I missed Tony Robinsons channel 4 programme, but it sounds like it was very interesting. I have never been excavating, but I used to like going to churches and doing brass rubbings, and looking round graveyards at old head stones, seeing how and when people had passed away.
Well my lovelies, have a great weekend, stay warm and most of all dry. xxx

Hi Mo and everyone
OH had the dread lurgy on Tuesday ......... otherwise known as stomach flu (or possibly norovirus)
Guess what??
he very kindly shared it with me .............................
i have been sick since late Wednesday night :-(
It is my second bout in 2 weeks, as I had a go with it while we were with out daughter.
On the bright side .................... I have lost 5 lbs in the last 3 days ........ which means a total of 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks, as I lost 4 lbs the first time but put 2 lbs back on.
Not that I really intended to lose that much in such a short time :-)
Daughter seems to be recovering well, and has been given some tablets to help her sleep.
There is more stress on them at the moment ........... she is a partner in a firm, and unfortunately some clients did not pay their bills at the end of December, and when there is not enough money in the kitty, the partners don't get paid ...................... so we have had to lend them some money. Hopefully, it will only be the one month that is short.
My leg is recovering well, thank you Sallie. It has taken a long while to scab over properly, and the scab is still there. But it is not sore or anything.
take care everyone

Sylvia I hope that the bug leaves you soon. Very generous of your OH to share. Also hope your daughter doesn't have to go too long without money and that the customers who owe soon pay up.
I think we all still try and convert back to LSD sometimes Mo. I don't do it quite so often. One thing when thinking about how much things cost, how much pocket money etc, we also have to remember how much wages have increased, and things like what we used to call family allowance.
Only had about 3-4 hours sleep for some reason last night so feel rough today. I do need my sleep.

Hi Girls,
Sylvia, sorry to know that you have had the dreaded lurgy twice over the last few weeks. Very kind of your OH to share it with you.lolol!! Hope it won't be too long before you are are over it and that you are feeing l a lot better. Also hope that OH is much better by now.
Pleased that your leg is recovering well if slowly, but as they say, slowly but surely.
Sorry to hear that your daughter has a few problems with the firm she works for, let's hope that the people that owe them money will pay up straight away now and not keep the firm waiting for it.
Mo, you are right, even ten pence won't buy children any sweets these days, I usually give friends children or grandchildren about a pound to one pound fifty, to get sweets now. When I make a comment about how many sweets I could buy for sixpence when I was a child, Jennie reminds me of how much people earn now to then, so of course we have to pay more for them. I know she's right, but I still think they are expensive these days, even from when my two were small.
I think I have become like my nan, I can remember as I was growing up, she was always commented on how much prices had gone up.
Elizabeth, lovely to see you on here, I didn't manage to watch the programme as we were down visiting my brother and family, but I might be able to get to watch it on I-Player.
Ann, sorry that you didn't manage to get much sleep last night and that you are feeling under the weather today.
Shaun, you are welcome, glad to be of help to you and Mrs Shaun. Let's hope that she will get interested in making cards, if she does, like the rest of us she may well become addicted to it.lol!! My knee is feeling a good bit better and I am now able to walk short distances without having to use the stick for support, so hope over the next few days I will be able to manage the stairs, so can get back to card making.YIPEEEE!
We had a great day down in Wales with family and friends, had a lovely meal out and also my cousin's friends had bought her a birthday cake with some candles on, so we all sung Happy Birthday to her.
Only problem we had on the way down was on the M42 with a traffic holdup between jcts 5 to 3, it took us an hour and thirty five minutes to get between those two jcts. a long time considering that it is only one mile between 5 and 4. Still, the weather was good, a bit windy but the sun was shining in lovely blue sky.
It started to rain heavily before we let my brother's, but by the time we got about half way on the M50, it had eased off a good bit and by the time we had passed Birmingham we had no rain at all, although it was still windy.
Alun is up in Doncaster today, at a Model Railway Show. They have a layout there so by the time they take it down and load it into the cars and then unload it and put it away at the club house, I don't think he will be home much before seven o clock.
As Alun was having a meal up there Jennie, Michael and I went out to lunch, it was very nice too..
Well must go now , will speak to you all again soon.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Apologies if you read the Welsh thread I have copied this from there.
Mostly today it was blue skies and sunshine with just one short shower here, not too cold either.
I have not got on here before been busy, although not sure doing what. Time seems to have disappeared. We had the boiler fixed, plumber arrived as promised at 0830, then had to go and get a new air pressure switch. He finished at 10.30 (£140). Then we went for papers and coffee, then I did a scrap book page, (that is five pages in 2 days) then made some veg soup for lunch with oddments of veg from the fridge, then wrote a long letter Hmm I suppose that is busyish!!! Trying to take my mind off tomorrow when I have the dreaded dentist. Anyone who knows me will know what a wimp I am when it comes to the dentist ugh!!!
Sallie, glad you had a good day in Wales and hope Alun enjoyed the model Railway show.

Hi Mo, and everyone
Ann ............. glad to hear that you got your heating back :-)
I'm feeling human once again, and may even consider going for afternoon coffee later :-)
Today is a Stat Holiday in this province ..................... Family Day
It's really an excuse for a day off between Christmas and Easter ........... which can be as long as 4 months without a break.
Most other provinces have Family Day on Monday next week ............... don't know why we had to be different :-S
It is raining hard here, and is much warmer than it was, at around +5 or +6C.
The rain IS better than the original forecast of snow, followed by freezing rain, followed by rain!
take care everyone

Hi girls, hope that you are all alright .
Ann, hope all went well at the dentist for you, Like you I am I hate going there, in fact I am terrified, so you have my sympathy about going.
All went well at the show for Alun, he always enjoys going to them, He bought another engine off one off the stalls there, but when he tried it on the layout that the club had there it wouldn't go at all so he took it back and the chap gave him his money back. Alun was really disappointed, as it's an engine that he has wanted for a while.....never mind he can try somewhere else for it.
Sylvia, pleased that you are feeling ' more human ' as you put it.lol!!! It's good to hear that you are feeling a lot better, and that you managed to go out for more coffee.
We had some snow this morning, I was going to try and go up to town on the bus to get bread, but it started to snow, so thought I had better not go, didn't want to risk falling and making by leg worse, as it is getting better.
Mo, hope that you are alright, haven't heard from you for a few days.
Shaun, if you are looking in, I hope you managed to order some things online after all.
Marie and Huia, hope all is well with you both and your families.
Jean, you sound ' a busy bee ' making your cards. I hope that I will be back to making mine within the next couple of days.
Must go now, speak to you all soon.
Take care.
Love, Sallie.xxx
