Just out of interest , I had a bank appointment yesterday with a financial advisor ,and asked if they could sign passport application...they wouldn't because they haven't known me for two years, though I have had an account (in credit) with the same bank (in different location) for maybe 25 years

Back to the drawing board lol...or over to Mick's place ;)

Not the case in this country Berona- the signatory just has to
declare that that is their signature.

Obviously the signatory has to be present for the exercise !

You can also have a registered nurse sign it too.

Rose, sign up with a doctor NOW! You never think about the doctors until you need one....dont' leave it until it's too late. I've heard stories of people who failed to sign up at a surgery then couldn't get help when they needed it.

Besides you'll need to do the usual nurse visit with urnine sample and light clothing to reduce the wieght *ahem*.

Apart from that, yes the bank manager or the GP should sign it. I think it's daft that someone who has known you for x number of years can sign as long as they are a professional person. Good grief, professional people move around too, so if we stuck to that rule, none of us would have a flippin' passport.

Can't you get a someone at a Solicitors to sign? I had to get citizenship papers signed and went to a solicitor and got a Notary Public (not sure, something like that) to sign it.

Hi Daff, will have to sign up with a new dr first lol, haven't 'got around to it yet' :)
Thinking about a nice little holiday, not sure where but know I will need a passport...but the main reason is because I don't drive, a passport is really needed for when I am asked for photo ID (like today when I tried to sorted out a new rental!).

lol Ray ... never been to IOW...yet!

Mac now thats a good idea :)) and thank goodness you mentioned Bank! I had forgotten I have an appointment!
