Daughter's just told me her fiance has been made head chef at the Hotel du Vin Restaurant & Bistro in Winchester. :o)
He's only 24.

Daughter usually cooks at home - he's sick of the sight of food by the time he gets home!!
Lucky old me though, last year, for my birthday, I asked him to cook me a meal. He found out I love seawater fish, and cooked the most delicioous 5 fish meal - 5 different fish cooked 5 different ways.
He was runner up on Masterchef: The Professionals.
He couldn't have won, as the 'prize' was working in Michel Roux's restaurant in London - and daughter had just had his baby!!

Wow Maggie that is one hell of a promotion, I've worked with chefs as I trained as one but found my temper to much to deal with being with sharp knives etc lol so left the catering behind and did something else.

It's a hard slog but to get it at such a young age is remarkable "Well done Maggies future Son in Law"

Hope he enjoys the power it will bring him and serious good luck to him and his team.
