Oh Alison, aren't Mums the most beautiful people.......that made me cry.......and a memory my Sis and I have of our Mum is when Dad was in hospital for a long time.......and waving to her going off to work on a freezing day........there she was with her little suede zip up boots, socks and old warm coat.......her legs must have been cold, but she couldn't afford stockings....

Bless our Mums and Dads......worked so hard for us....

Alison I feel your pain i lost Mum on 2nd of this Month but i think we both have wonderful memories to keep us going.

I ARRIVED AND MUM IS HERE!

To my wonderful friends and family,
Some things I'd like to say,
But first of all to let you know,
That I arrived Ok.

I'm writing this from Heaven,
Where I dwell with God above,
Where there are no more tears or sadness,
There is just Eternal Love.

Please do not be unhappy,
Just because I'm out of sight,
Just remember that I'm still with you,
Every morning, noon and night.

The day I had to leave you,
When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me,
And He said "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again,
You were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest friends and family,
They will be here later on.

I need you here so badly,
As part of My big plan,
There's so much we need to do,
To help our mortal man.

Then God gave me a list of things,
He wished for me to do,
And foremost on that list of mine,
It is to watch and care for you.

And I will be beside you,
Every day and week and year,
And when you are sad, I'm standing there,
To wipe away your tear.

And when you lie in bed at night,
The day's chores put to flight,
God and I will be close to you,
In the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
And all those loving years,
Because you are only human,
They are bound to bring some tears.

But do not be afraid to cry,
It does relieve the pain,
Remember there would be no flowers,
Unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you,
Of all that God has planned,
But if I were to tell you,
You wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
Though my life on earth is o'er,
I am closer to you now,
Than I ever was before.

And to my so many friends,
Trust in God Who knows what is best,
I'm still not far away from you,
I'm just beyond the crest.

There are some rocky roads ahead for you,
And many hills to climb,
But together we can do it,
Just by taking one day at a time.

It was my philosophy,
And I would like for it to be yours too,
That as you give unto the world,
So the world will give back to you.

If you can help someone else,
Who is in sorrow or in pain,
Then you can say to God at night,
My day was not in vain.

And now I am contented,
That my life was worth while,
Knowing as I passed along the way,
I made someone crack a smile.

So if you meet some one,
Who is down and feeling low,
Just lend a hand to pick them up,
As on your way you go.

When you are walking down the street,
And you have me on your mind,
I'll be walking in your footsteps,
Just a half a step behind.

Now when you feel that gentle breeze,
Or the wind upon your face,
That's me giving you a great big hug,
Or just a soft embrace.

And when it's time for you to go,
From your body to be free,
Remember you are not going,
For then you will be here with me.

And I will always love you,
From that land way up above,
We'll be in touch again soon,

P. S. God sends His love

Hugs Helenx

Thinking of you today Alison,
as you remember your dear Mum,some of us are so lucky to have such wonderful memories, and that is what helps us get through each day.

Sometimes I wonder what my Mum would have said, or how she would have handled a problem, and I always hear her voice saying,
you do it your way,and sure enough I do.

Alison, I had a lovely mum too, the most important things you have are happy memories and the lasting gift she gave you, which was not how to knit or cook or any of those talents which get handed down....but how to love :))

What a wonderful lady your dear Mum was, Alison and what lovely memories for you and your family to recall.
I am sure she is with you always and you will be surprised at the things you learned from her without realising, as time goes by and you find yourself doing or saying the same things she did.

I never realised how much I had picked up of my Dad's gardening knowledge, now that I am more interested in gardening I find I know more plants than I thought I did! Thanks Dad!

I have just nudged up a thread called Remember Me on the general board, it is full of lovely verses that might comfort you a little bit.
