Most of the charity shops I used to use were good for pricing fairly but some seemed to forget that you can get stuff in Primark and were putting silly prices on ordinary clothing etc so it never sold.
My son often picks things up in charity shops and sells on ebay to make a bit extra, and he has had some good bargains for himself too, an Yves St Laurent suit for about £15 a while back and similar designer stuff dirt cheap. He also buys a lot of casual clothing off ebay,

Hoff, have you looked on Gumtree for a cot, if you are serious about needing one, there are great bargains on that site for all sorts of things, people even sell items such as conservatories if they are having an extension built and no longer want the one there, it goes on Gumtree and is sold in a few hours, buyer to take away and all.

Diane, you sound like me, I had help when my dog needed an op, from PDSA and I used to buy from all the shops in the city, now I am not usually around in time before they close which is just as well as I have enough stuff to start a shop or several myself lol

I think prices of items may have increased lately, due to the rental of the shops being increased.

does depend on area and also the charity. Where I moved from there were two , one was a ' pile it high sell it cheap' place, the other was laid out like a 'proper' shop but priced quite high, some of the tops etc, you could buy for roughly same price in the market.

There is a Barnardos charity shop just over the road from me , I confess to being in there at least three times a week.

The best bargain this year was a few days ago . A lovely ( nearly new ) wooden cot for £30 , it's a Mamas and Papas one , just what we needed for the new grandchild : )
