If your icing is to wet they will bleed into it. Its best to wait till the icing has started to set (when it feels slightly tacky to touch) then put them on so that they stay in place but don't loose any of their colour. |

Hello Rosalind, It's years since I decorated a cake like this, but as far as I remember you should be fine. Anyway, if the colours run, you will get a pretty effect, a bit like watercolour painting.You could put some of the icing on a saucer and try it out first. |
