I'm reading Gallipoli - Attack From The Sea by Victor Rudenno. It's very interesting to me because an ancestor - Robert Brown - was the navigator on the E11 submarine that was victorious in the Dardenalles in WW1. He is mentioned a few times in the book.

I have most of Grisham's books. He writes a good story but sometimes gets a bit too technical with his law procedures and I get lost in those parts.

Only one I didn't like was The Bleachers. A whole book about one football match! American football at that!

have got Painted House, but never read, not sure why, I know it was made into a film, but the book by my Uncle, well, surprised me, never been into poetry, but so funny, my 16 year old loves it ! The Summons and the I can't think of the name !!!!! Have got to have a look in my book case lol. Last summer I bought a lot of autobiographies, what I would call not nice ones, upsetting, enlightening and made me think how lucky I am. Will have a look and let you know.

I find that other people authors of interest are to me interesting ...some I wouldn't read and some I have never heard of, but by descripition I will enjoy . I have even read an author of boredom because the book was recommended and enjoyed it ...like Grisham I had stopped reading but read a painted house.

There is a book that I read, which I wouldn't normally think of, it is by my Uncle Roger . Points of View, A Valley Christian (with room for improvement) by R A Vowles. Such a good read, I bought it cos it was by my Uncle, but I am so glad I read it, got it on Amazon, about £6ish.

Just finished the latest Nicci French - which are really written by a husband and wife team. They are Nicci Gerrard and Sean French, and they write psychological thrillers. Well worth a read. The long winter nights will just fly by

Kitchener's Last Volunteer: The Life of Henry Allingham

The Last Fighting Tommy: The Life of Harry Patch

I would recommend both of these. Henry Allingham is now the oldest man in the world.

For really good historical fiction Uzzi......I'd recommend Sarum by Edward Rutherford.

Absolutely brilliant........it's a real epic.

It's the history of Salisbury from the earliest time to almost present day.......kind of follows the family lines too through the ages.as far as I know I have no connection to Salisbury but it had me gripped. Have read the others too....but Sarum is by far the best imho xx

Playing For Pizza by John Grisham, not one of his best books, Innocent Man was his best, as it was a non-fiction, fantastic, think the catogory is crime/thriller, damn good read.
