Thanks Helen but I am sure you have heard the saying about pleasing some of the people some of the time but never all of the people all of the time. We love company even if we hardly ever see them as they are always out and about!! Friends and family are always welcome here

I think it is lovely of you to offer your appartment (reasonable rate) to us peeps on GR.How sad that someone decided to be a misery guts and have it wooshed.
I have my hols booked but I hope there will be someone here that will have a wonderful holiday.

Well!! you have got a couple of lounger chairs and several sunbeds, let them all sleep outside and hope it stays dry!!!

Hi Deanna

No it wasn't a joke the original thread which was whoosed was a perfectly genuine thread and what was offered on it correct in every way. Unfortunately someone took the hump for whatever reason and reported me and the thread was pulled and I received an email from GR.

This thread is about the first one being pulled and the manner in which it went. Gradually it has turned in to a lighthearted banter and yes Ann from Glouc has stayed here three times now. Everything in the threads referring to the apartment is true - just added a touch of humour here and there.

You would be made very welcome. Good luck with the hip op, I had a complete hip replacement 14 months ago and I just wish I had had it done earlier instead of putting it off. It is great now, no pain, and I can do all the things I used to do before it became a problem to me.

Now.... am I allowed to answer that question? Well here goes.... we live in the north of the island, so different from the south. It is green and fertile and we live in Puerto de la Cruz just on the outskirts of the town about 10/15 minutes walk away from the centre. I have been here 7 years and moved from Lincolnshire.

To be honest the thread being pulled really doesn't bother me as we don't let the apartment for personal gain as we realise just how lucky we are. It's more to give other people a very reasonably priced break It was just the way it went that annoyed me. Now I am getting so much fun out of this thread that I am almost ready to offer the person who reported me a free months holiday and to pay their air fares!!

So glad you have fond memories. As you know I'm not a sun worshiper, preferring to sit in comfort inside keeping up with friends, family and of course GR via the free WiFi connection provided. But the weather today is so beautiful hot, sunny and clear blue skies that I did just have to take 10 minutes, with a cup of coffee, to look at the stunning views

Don't forget to wipe over the lovely large outside table that sits under the umbrella to keep off the sun. That is if you have moved it back from where we had it when eating our lunch in the two lounger chairs, or having our evening drinks, or, as we did one very clear night, when we took our Amarettos out and sat out looking at the stars, so many of them because there is no pollution. And tidy up the tubs of geraniums on the terrace now that T is no longer there to dead head them!

Thanks for adding to the thread as you say it was meant to be a friendly and reasonable offer - that is if you call LESS than 50.00 euros a WEEK per person reasonable. Now I really must go and sweep the large private terrace of the apartment, that's the one that has extensive sea and mountain views. lol
