I read that they still do these in Oz Ingrid and what they are called.......pity that they have stopped production here......

All this talk of sweets......I am getting the fancy for a coffee and walnut cake and I don't know if I have the willpower not to pop round to the supermarket to get the ingredients.....

I used to LOVE the 5 fruits one - especially if you snapped it into 5 and the fruits overlapped the 'join' - for some reason that made it extra special!

I too used to like Wagon Wheels from the school tuckshop. Bought some recently on a "nostalgia trip" but - not at all as I remembered! Have they changed the recipe?
Any one remember Tiffin Bars (milk chocolate, raisins and biscuity-bits)?

I think that 'spangles' were always called 'spangles' weren't they? When I was young each sweet was in a stripy wrapper.

Not really sure on this one Fiona, but didn't spangles bring out black and white stripey ones..... .... humbug flavour, and mint ones too......then they changed the name later.....

As for Waggon Wheels, I think they did original, and toffee flavour, I haven't had one for a long time....

.......and maybe a dodgy memory here too.......but I seem to remember half a walnut on the top of a walnut whip, and one inside the mallow, at the bottom.......

Hi David. Yes they used to be Burton's Wagon Wheels. Don't know who does them now.
Moonchild: I remember walnut whips with a half.-nut on the top and the other half in the inside. Think they forget the bottom one now though!
Am I the only one who used to nip the nut off the top, munch the chocolate from the outside leaving the mallow and thick chocolate bsse?
