I was wondering how old she was.Gosh Charlies Angels!!!!! Do we know what Cancer she had?I am not being morbid to ask this ,but just curious .

I don't know Helen. The report just said that she was diagnosed 3 years ago and was given the all clear but it returned a few months later. She was to marry her long time partner Ryan O'Neal who was with her when she died.

I read only yesterday that they were due to get married - did they not get married in time or did they manage to go ahead - I so hope they did

Farrah Fawcett has died aged 62, following her lengthy battle with cancer.

The actress - who became an icon after starring in cult 70s TV show Charlie's Angels - had recently returned to St. John's Health Center in Los Angeles for treatment for cancer, first diagnosed three years ago.

Ryan O'Neal, her partner since 1982, was at Farrah's side throughout her final days.

Earlier this week Ryan had revealed he and Farrah planned to marry after 27 years together. The couple had a son together, Redmond, who was born in 1985.

On June 24 Farrah's publicist wrote on social networking site Twitter that the actress was close to death and had been read the last rites.

Farrah was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and began treatment, including chemotherapy and surgery.

Four months later, on her 60th birthday, she released a statement saying she was delighted to have been given the all clear.

In May 2007 the cancer returned and Farrah reportedly sought alternative treatment in Germany.

Her condition became critical in April this year, after the cancer spread.

She had anal cancer which is apparently a rare cancer but usually responds well to treatment. I don't think she and Ryan O'Neal married before she passed away - very sad.

Sad news (: I remember her for her very powerful portrayal of a battered wife which proved she was not just a beauty but also an extremely good actress.

I used to think of Farrah and Lee Majors as "the golden couple" before she and Ryan O'Neal were together.

I think that Ryan's statement was brave, and Farrah was brave making the documentary about living with cancer.
