Rambling Report 29 Jun 2009 18:56

Sorting out old family stuff today, came across some of my old school reports...

this comment "Rosemary is a pleasant, helpful girl" damning isn't it lol...I suspect that 37 years later most people would still describe me like that...I think I need a change ;)

Linda works well but does disrupt the class at times. (really got into trouble for that remark on my school report)..........................

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 29 Jun 2009 19:01

mine was libellous - it said things like "Ann is noisy on the train"

Maria Report 29 Jun 2009 19:05

I was always a very good girl

so I don't think there are any funny comments on my reports

My ex famously got a comment from his geography teacher along the lines of

"Andrew does well to find his way home"

and he's never got any better. Even with sat nav or google maps, he can't find his way out of a carrier bag.

Mine were the same as many others I suspect."Could try harder",and talks too much in class.
My friends mum when she read her report once stabbed it with the kitchen knife on the table and had to wait for her hubby to get home to pull the knife out of the table lol
One of my ballet exam reports said I was a bit heavy on the thighs!!!!!!!!!! Nothing has changed then for 50 years lol

Rambling Report 29 Jun 2009 19:18

My academic subjects were always ok, but PE ( games) always said 'Tries hard" ( and meant "absolutely useless" lol).

One teacher wrote....it would benefit Jean, and the class, if she stopped talking and paid more attention.

Nothing much changes does it :)

Prone to day-dreaming. Could achieve much more if she didn't talk so much in class. Contributes well in debates.

I now work in the dental surgery next door to my old secondary and treat some of my old teachers. I have threatened to bring in some of my reports and read back what they wrote about me.

SheilaSomerset Report 29 Jun 2009 20:21

Can't remember much about mine - I was the quiet, swotty sort - but my Mum has one of hers which simply says under one subject 'Barbara is idle' - lol!

Muffyxx Report 29 Jun 2009 20:42

Mostly....... chats too much.......prone to bouts of silly behaviour....failing to reach her potential as a result blah de blah de blah.

Amanda2003 Report 29 Jun 2009 20:55

I was a " goody-goody "..... a credit to my parents , that sort of thing .

Unfortunately I skived off for most of the final year at school and certainly didn't reach my full potential : )

My reports were never good, I have a copy of my Mum's- she left school in 1922 and it is written in copperplate, stating what an excellent pupil she was. When I was a student nurse, one of our junior school teachers came in as a patient. she recognised me and said "you were a little devil at school"

......But do the teachers know who they were writing about?

Last September our grandson had an operation to put pins through both hips. He was in a wheelchair for a while at school, then on crutches, but still not allowed by surgeon to do PE,,,and yet he managed to go up a grade in that subject,on his report.
.......................................................................................

I was rather quiet and helpful, but should make an effort to finish set work .....
