What is it about perfume? Just passed a couple of women in the street and I think they must have bathed in it! Sheesh. I expect it would have been an OK sort of smell if there had not been quite so much of it!

Lol Jill... when I was in hospital, certain smells really turned my tummy! There was one phlebotomist who would come around drenched in the stuff.... about 7.15 am.... I could smell her coming down the corridor, and wafting around the wards... I'd pray that the nurses could get blood out of me, so that she didn't have to come near, lol... I was really pleased when I lost my sense of smell, lolol

I can spray loads of the stuff on, cheap or good and I can smell it for a few minutes and then it is gone. I must absorb it!

Ican smell Poison from yards away and it always makes my stomach turn, I hate the smell of it. (apologies to any Poison wearers out there).

Some perfumes are really strong, so they are not necessarily bathed in it though.

I think that's the problem Country Gal - some people seem to respray throughout the day as they lose the smell of it ...

Daff - how did you lose your sense of smell?

There was one woman at work who used to lash it on. I couldn't get into the lift with her or even after she'd just come out of it - it was dreadful. (I think that might have been Poison - good name!)

Back in the late 70's early 80's when I was a nurse we were not allowed to wear perfume.

Hiya Jill... I had some pretty heavy chemo.... one of the side effects was losing my sense of smell... yesterday, I just got a slight waft of one of my roses, so hopefully it is on the way back, lol! It's been almost 5 months!

I love Perfume,I have to wear a oil based one, as with fair skin you absorb spirit based one's,I don't wear cheap perfume,so i only have to put on once a day.It makes me feel feminine. and having, said that, my next sentence sounds daft but i also prefer the smell of alot of after shaves. Not A flowery person.x

HI Ladies, may I say to all, including aftershave wearers, please spare a thought for us Asthma sufferers when you lash perfume on.

Espesially if you travel by bus, as we can't escape the fumes then.

What is wrong with the smell of a cleanly-washed body anyway ??

I love perfume but hate heavy perfume during the day. Don't like it when i get on a Flight and the woman sitting next to me has been experimenting in the duty free. And absolutely detest poison, ugh!!!

I love perfume - in moderation. I train volunteers to work on the oncology ward and treatment centre of our local hospital. I tell them that perfume is a no-no when working with patients.

I think there is nothing nicer than a slight waft of nice perfume or after-shave but gag if it's on too heavy - especially when in a lift or public transport.

I love Duty Free but spray so many different perfumes on so many parts of my body I feel a bit queasy myself - especially on the ferry if the sea is a bit rough!!!

Poison is the most ghastly perfume ever made - the name suits it, but Angel - well that is just heavenly

I'd really like to get a whiff of Evening in Paris again - used to think I was really sophisticated in my teens with a dab or two of that when I went out!!

Remember when Helena Rubenstein brought out Apple Blossom - it was as if the whole world was drenched in the stuff - would probably hate it now
