I was reading my Chinese horoscope in a magazine this morning and it told me that this year was going to be a lucky year for me :-)

This week I've won the best kind of prize - there's a cheque for a little under NZ$100 on it's way to me from a magazine draw and I won a prize pack from the same magazine - won't know what that is until it arrives as it says prize provided by Beach Volleyball sponsor.

Many years ago I used to buy a paper called Competitors Journal, I don't know if you can still buy it. As well as having a few competitions in it it gave tips and advice on entering and winning prizes. I won lots of small things the biggest being a hamper of luxury food, it was just before Christmas but we were young and broke so we gave it to the in laws for their present.

I also won 'a pair of tights for every week of the year' all size small and all American Tan!! I am 5' 10'' tall with long legs!!

In the sixties there were loads more competitions in stores and supermarkets than there are now.

Cool three prizes in three days this week

- Taking Woodstock DVD
- Ice Car Cleaning Prize Pack (Turtle Wax etc) - except now I really do have to clean the car
- and today a big RenArt prize pack of stencils, bendy pens and aribrushes (some I'll keep some will go to nephews when their birthdays come around)

Another parcel in the post today, a Nair (hair removal creams) prize pack from a magazine draw, oh well at least I can pretend it's a chrissie pressie for me.

Oh yes in November I won a magazine subscription, a quatro razor. sunscreen and after sun gel pack.
