*$parkling $andie* Report 22 Jul 2009 00:51

hi all~~~
I'm in old South Wales and have to do washing every day,its been raining for the last few days, so have had to use my tumble drier and our air conditioning system to dry the clothes. The air conditoning is not keep us cool.lol, but it dries the damp air in the house and reduces the mould caused by drying wet clothes indoors.
i wish we had to use it to cool the house down.lol

Hello $andie - I thought you'd left us after deleting your posts. Nice to see you back. Hope your rain goes away soon. Couldn't live without my air-con. It's reverse cycle so we use it to warm us up in winter and cool us down in summer:))

Hi Sue
No,I,m still around.lol
But tend to clear out my posts as i can't stand having more than 3 pages in 'My Threads'
Our air con system blows only dry cool air which occasionally can be useful if it,s very hot day...not very often!
It,s very quiet around at the mo, might hit the sack.lol

I live in Victoria, tis very cold in my neckofthewoods today!! cant wait to go back to using the aircon, the barbie, but not the fly swat!!!

Hope all those that live in the other, warmer parts of the globe are well~~~~~

Yes, I'm a newbie, still finding my way around the boards.
Ive not been researching my family tree for long, but am enjoying the challenge!!

I am originally from Yorkshire, my family migrated out to Aus in 1966. Ive been back once, beautiful country so steeped in history.
My dream is to go back there one day to visit my birth place, think I'll have to win tatts first!!!

Good morning/evening/night wherever you are. I'm late on here today - been busy.

Welcome Carole. Sorry it's cold down there. We are having a couple of beautiful days - even if the pre-dawn temps are only 4 or 5 - when the sun is up, it's beautiful. 22 yesterday, hopefully 23 to-day. Not bad for mid-winter, is it? However, it won't last - forecast is for rain so I'm off out in it to enjoy it while I can.

Allan - you mean you haven't hit a brick wall in your research? I though we all hit brick walls. I've hit a few!

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 22 Jul 2009 02:23

Hello Berona hope you're enjoying the lovely weather - as you say it won't last long. Don't you hate those brick walls? But the lovely Linda knocked down a couple today and solved the mystery of the missing TH Morris. Of course now I owe Linda a million dollars but I'm sure she doesn't mind waiting till I win the OzLotto.

Hello Carole and welcome. I hope you're going to come and visit us often. Your cold weather must be coming here in the next couple of days but for - as Berona said - we're having glorious sunshine and temps. in the 20's. Enjoy the rest of your day:))

Hi Everyone, British and Aussie alike!

We're supposed to get 27 degrees today, but it's overcast, so maybe not. It doesn't actually rain here in my neck of the woods, just gets cloudy to get us all excited.

I'm impressed that Daff's ancestor stole mutton. Coming from a long line of sheep cockies myself, I'm quite partial to a roast mutton or crumbed chops. (Whoops, just drooled on my keyboard, darn it).

Have a lovely day/evening.

Hi Berona and SueMaid,

Thanks for the welcome!!

Glad your weather is much nicer than mine is at the moment, could you both possibly send it my way!!!

Enjoy your day/night :-))

Oh, I am all embarrassed now Sue, but always glad to help. I don't really want your money, a kind word is more than sufficient.

Unless you do win the lottery, in which case I will come knocking on your door, with a ready thought out sob story and begging letter in hand.

Aw thank you Sue.......

Lol Alison.... I still have to prove he is who I think he is... they have the same unusual surname, and both have a name that is interchangeable throughout the line... my own father is called the one, but named the other, his dad had both..... but... the person who had the family in the uk, I know was also jailed...... but after a few years, his wife (uk one) began to receive a sort of annuity thing..... I find all that intriguing... when I get my ancestry and my brain cells back, I shall do some more research on that line. I will have to go there, I think... Devon is very nice though!

Good morning Aussies and good evening to our Brit friends. Hope everyone is well. Looks like we're back to winter after a few warm sunny days - it was good while it lasted.

Yesterday I spent a good deal of the day following leads that Linda provided me with. It was frustrating on one hand but I did find a few bits of info. that I didn't have before. Today I need to sit on the phone and catch up on work I didn't do yesterday.

Have a good day Aussies and enjoy your evening everyone else:)))

Very windy and wet yesterday and overnight but seems to have blown itself out here at the moment

Well..... helloooooo!! And now that the night shift is here..... I am off to me pit!! I really must start sleeping for a bit in the day like others do, so that I can stay up and play at night!

Night night all, sleep tight...... do you want some of our rain, please???

Good night and good morning.

Daff - don't sleep in the daytime. You can always talk to those of us who have finished our h----w==k and want to have a chat.

Allen - it's not here yet, but it's on its way. Yesterday it got up to 25degrees in some places - in mid winter?!? We had a few sprinkles and to-day is expected to only get to 18 - still not bad - but coming down.

Yes, Daff, we could do with some rain - we are on water restrictions - but as soon as we get it, we whinge about it. We're spoiled!

Good morning Berona - nice to see you as always. Wasn't yesterday a cracker of a day? In between family research I stripped the bed and washed the bedlinen. It smelled wonderful when I brought it in. My daughter said the children were playing outside with sunscreen, hats and shorts and t-shirts.

Sandie . I dont understand your logic,

although it might tidy up your threads, it disrupts the run of the thread when posts go missing.......and you HAVE reposted, which puts the thread back..........?????

Bob

PS can I be an Honory Aussie? I have rellies that left pommieland in the mid sixties.......for Adelaide

Allan

Allan Report 23 Jul 2009 00:32

Hi Berona, SueMaid, Bob

All this talk of convict pasts has just reminded me that I had to pay my own way.

Sheesh, some families get all the privileges.

Incidentally, Bob, the surname of your rellies wasn't Green by any chance?

It's just that some rellies of mine came out around that time, with that name, and settled in Adelaide.

I've never tried to contact them but may do one day
