Absolutely brilliant.

In almost five years I have never been reported, never had a nasty pm and never had a deletion on any thread.

Yes...... I want a very big medal folks!

I've had it all now. I got the nasty pm (not really, just a lovely chap on here who didn't want me to feel left out).

This could go to my head.

Oh by the way my peeps were in hysterics today when I relayed the going on to them about last night.

They can handle one looney tune.... moi, but are not sure about a whole website.

They said thanks a lot and keep it coming.

You are a very naughty boy Allan.

I just googled that word and my eyes popped out my head like something out of a Disney cartoon.

Imagine trying to put that into layman's terms on here. The whole site would be put on the norty step!

Can someone enlighten me on this?

When a POST is deleted, it is very often removed by the poster because of duplication, cleanup, etc. although it says it could be an administrator.

Why then, when a POST is complained about, does the whole THREAD get deleted???

I have seen some good threads on here and then one or two 'nasties' post, then the whole thing goes? Why doesn't GR just remove the POST and leave the rest of it alone?

Allan,

I am talking late 80s and into their 90s here mate.

You don't mess with this lot. If I told them a watered down version they would say.... oh you mean ******. You wouldn't believe some of what they come out with.

One had a urine infection and told her daughter it wasn't that. She had pheumonia. Couldn't have a water infection as she hadn't had sex for years..... she is only 96yrs old!

They may be old but they have been there and seen a lot more than we ever have.

I've got one or two who want me to bring my laptop round so they can come on here!

I would get banned for life. They think nothing of the PC brigade. They tell it like it is and if you don't like what they say... whatever.

That's their latest word.... whatever.

I'm going to unplug their tellies.

Hi Berona

I don't know the answer but probably someone on here will give you an insight who is on here more than me.

Allan,

Where are you on the planet?

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 16 Jul 2009 00:17

Allan,

My brother's brother in law went to Perth sponsored by his uncle who had lived there for many yearsl.

Walking down the road one day and a chap stopped him in the steet and said if your name ....... said yes.

Both went to primary school in Scotland. Small world.

Speak to you again.

Berona

Berona Report 16 Jul 2009 01:41

If your brother's brother in law came to Australia, then that qualifies you to join SueMaid's thread. We have more 'adopted' Australians on there than real ones.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 16 Jul 2009 08:42

Your thread has turned from twaddle to an education thread Aileen....I had to google too Allan lol.

Sally

Sally Report 16 Jul 2009 09:00

Reading through this thread again I saw your post Berona, suggesting that instead of pulling the whole thread, that GR could just remove the offending posts........that seems fair enough to me, because sometimes the threads are really interesting, and just one or two posts can turn the thread into something other than it should be......and then the thread can continue as before....

Sorry if someone has already done this

Quick definitions (twaddle)

▸ noun: pretentious or silly talk or writing
▸ verb: speak (about unimportant matters) rapidly and incessantly

I often use this term when my kids are talking rubbish lol
