about being awake all night with earache ( not like me)
but I won't! Mainly because I read a post on here that made me ashamed of my little self.

So i will just settle for saying, good morning, and that I have a deep respect for people on here who keep smiling through 'stuff' that makes my petty worries insignificant in the extreme :))

Ditto Janet's post Rose........earache is a miserable thing to have.......try Audax.......even better if slightly warmed before putting in your ear.......otherwise a hot water bottle with something soft wrapped around it and rest your head on that.......and take some Paracetemol.......

Hope the pain goes soon.......

Aaaw, Rose hun, I feel your pain - LITERALLY.

I had ear problems all my life, up until a few years ago, still suffer with tinnitus badly though. There's nothing like it. No wonder it sent Van Gogh slightly mad!

Mo - I've had THREE skin grafts on my eardrum, due to perforations :o( I had one when I was 14, which didn't 'take', the same again at 15, then finally one when I was about 24, which seems to have worked.

They used pig tissue on the first one (didn't tell me 'til after the op that was what they'd done), and because of that, I am now no longer allowed to give blood. I went last year to donate, after a couple of years abscence, and they decided it was classed as an " animal transplant" (or something like that!!) They said the rules had been changed, and despite donating before, it now disqualified me from giving blood :o(

Hope it eases up soon Rose

Aawww Rose....earache is really a terrible pain (:

If it isn't better by this afternoon I think maybe a trip to the doctors is in order. If it is an infection it will need some antibiotics before it will start to heal.

Take care.

Rose,if it continues see your GP
Infections lead to my perforations,so get it seen to

Rose we're all entitled to have a moan, and there's nothing like earache to make you feel miserable.

Try and get in at your doctors, especially if you start to get any dizziness, and tell the receptionist you have an ear infection, they should get you in fairly quickly.

I have a sticky-out left ear (inherited from me Dad) attractive, I know, but when I had my last op, two of my sisters sat at my bedside whilst the surgeon came 'round. They said "You could've fixed the other ear whilst you were repairing the right one!". He said "I would've done, if she'd asked...."

PAH!!

I'm off out now, got a date with a mug of coffee and an old school friend, who incidentally, has a sticky-out left ear too (no relation).

Hope you feel better soon Rose.

Was that a mastoidectomy Heidi? My son had that when he was 10, and his ear sticks out a bit too, and it's slightly lower than the other one.

He still has to go and have it cleared of wax (hoovered) now and then, and he's nearly 30 now. My grandad had the same thing.

Two of my children have one ear that is bigger and stick out more that then other ear...they both had to have ear grommets when they were younger as well..
