Rose I had an ear problem a few weeks back. It needed syringing which was a huge relief.....then I got probs in the other ear and altho it didn't need syringing, I was prescribed antibiotic drops which worked a treat. I haven't read all this thread so if you haven't been to the Dr's, might be worth a check:)

Thanks Whirley :) , since I moved I haven't yet registered (bad girl!) but I will on Monday and if no better by then make an appointment. Touchwood it isn't any worse today anyway, I did wonder if it might be the precursor to swine flu which is hitting Telford hard at the moment but think it would have shown with other symptoms by now

Rose, you were advised yesterday to get to the doctors....you should have made a point of registering then. *tsk*

Seriously, have you had a cold recently, or hayfever, sore throat. The ears nose and throat are all connected, so it may be that it's coming from the throat rather then directly in the ears. Maybe some decongestant will help relieve it until you get to a doctor.

I would suggest you find your walk-in centre TODAY!

in fact NOW! Go on....what are you waiting for?

lol TW, I have had hay fever for months , so the itchy back of the throat is the norm in June/ july for me

but I don't think there is a 'walk in centre' here...though I will check it out. it isn't bad enough to stop me doing housework etc so I can't be too bad lol

Not being a medical man but having been around for a while, in my experience it likely means that,
as you can still feel pain...........

cue music...

the ear bones' connected to the head bone, the head bones' connected to the neck bone, the neck bones' connected to the shoulder bone..........etc......

Rosie...your eye, nose and ear are all linked to the back of your throat,
If you have a prob with either of them it can effect the other.
So if your eye is infected..it will produce more tears and will bung up your nose...so you think your nose is the prob as you keep on sniffing.
Same with the ears.
You may have cattarh (sp)...which can cause probs with the eyes nose and ears.
Get thee to a quack...and hopefuly you will find a cure.
