For those sad people like me who like to watch the soaps. Have you realised that Wednesdays episode of corrie has been moved to a new spot of Thursdays 8.30 I think, but check it. Wednesdays wont be the same.

I unashamedly love Corrie, Ann. It normally goes through a dodgy patch in the summer but I often think it can contain some of the finest acting and script writing on the telly:)

Oh is it this week it starts?

Ann.... us soap lovers are not sad at all we are just escapists :)

it gets confusing doesn't it. I agree David there is some excellent acting in corrie, and I love the comedy provided by 'Blanche' and the lad Graeme. but in my opinion that goes for all the soaps. i was just watching last nights Eastenders and the acting of the young girl who plays Stacey, who is suspected of suffering from bipolar was excellent.

I thought exactly the same about Stacey.

Me too. Not very keen on Eastenders these days but the actress who plays Stacey is a fantastic actress

stacey is a good actress or rather who plays her is. The AA meet was funny Blanch is funny she reminds me of a guy who lived near me ages ago he was a real big girls blouse like him and damned nosey

I agree about Stacey......I was saying to OH last night what a lovely piece of acting that was........and on The Street as well......Anna Friel........I saw how good she was all those years ago on Brookside.....

Love Corrie.......you can go away for a few months and in a couple of weeks pick up the plots again......and the set piece with Blanche Ken and Dierdre all going to "support" Peter at his AA meeting.......and Blanche castigating the poor chap who was laying his life bare......then Blanche turning on Ken, and Dierdre coming in........and then the classic line from Peter.........now you know why I drink.......lol.....

Escapism, maybe, but great scriptwriting at times.....

i had never watched The Street before but Anna Friel was very good and yes i remember her from Brookside that dreary series

I'm an avid Soap watcher, watch the lot but I particularly like the Street, it was a brilliant series last time and looks even better this time.

Has anyone noticed how the young lad moving into the farm on Emmerdale looks a lot like Jason in Corrie, wonder if they could be related??

Julia

Julia Report 23 Jul 2009 09:24

Yes Barbara, they are brothers in real life, and the one in Emmerdale is the same one that played Donte in Waterloo Road, I think, but I will stand corrected on this.

Thought they must be related Julia, they are so alike, I never really watched Waterloo Road so haven't seen him before.

Gosh, that was well spotted Lady Barbara, I will have a closer look next time......

With Emmerdale, apart from the Dingles, the lady who plays Val, with the Geordie accent.......what a great comedy actress, her timing is sheer perfection, and the comic quips are so funny I can only but smile.....:0)

LadyBarbara

LadyBarbara Report 23 Jul 2009 09:39

On a downside in Emmerdale, I don't like the comedy between Marlon and Paddy, doesn't work for me at all...but yes Val is so funny at times and yes her timing is perfect.

I like the fact that they have introduced the blind lady in Emmerdale, she has come out with lots of funny quips herself, but not sure about her new cleaning job...lol
