It's hard when you know what you want, and it is there just out of reach .

A house like that is ideal LancsLass, don't give up hope though, prices may recover enough for you to sell and get what you want, as they say you only need one buyer .

I would buy the one I am renting if I could , but no way would I ever be able to afford it...unless I win the lottery, or find a rich relative all of a sudden lol.

He will have me over there asap Foggy, and has already mentioned taking sleeping bags so as not to interrupt the work by coming home to bed...... no way lol!

I would love to buy a house not far from where I am now, Its what I call a good last house. Main bedroom & bathroom downstairs so will last me to a ripe old age. and 3 bedrooms upstairs with shower room

My mum & dad had a similar one for 40+ years and didnt have to move when my dad struggled to get around in his old age after mum had passed away. He didnt need go upstairs for 10 years!!

My sister has it now.

..But wont be able to sell mine and the other needs some work on it so cant afford to drop the cost on mine otherwise i wont have enough!

Yes, Rose.
But at least you will have the satisfaction of being able to say " I did that" when it's all finished.

Hi Mel, he isn't my cup of tea really , lol but I hope you enjoy.

LancsLass , I sold house last year, at a bad price but the way things were going it seemed a case of sell at that or be trapped there for years! , so am renting now but want to try and get a toe on ladder again if possiblewhile the prices are so low, so a buy to let mortgage is the only possible way. Fingers crossed :)

yep, best time to buy. what with all the repossessions, property is good value at the moment.

think chances on property are safer than...some others , Foggy :) If it doesn't cost an horrendous amount to do up it will be a good buy I think.

Blimey Rose, have you managed to move house in the present climate.

I have been looking for a move for 10 months but no point putting my house on the market as nothing around here is selling

Yes pretty much settled, sorted through the last of the boxes and went to a boot fair this morning with some of it.

Hoping that the buy to let is going ahead, bit of a chance, lol but not the first I've taken nor probably the last! :)
